Need to back off bac..I think.
Well...I'm up to 100 mg per day of bac...and stalled there. Had a vaca at the beginning of sept with the grand kids...so didn't want to increase the dose then. Hubby wasn't feeling too well at that point so MADE him go see his MD...now turns out he needs open heart surgery for a bad mitral valve!! Thank God for wives...lol...but now I feel that the SEs with bac are too much to handle with this new development. I have a lot of daytime sleepiness as well as general forgetfulness...which I was managing before...but now I need to have my edge back. Suggestions, anyone?Tags: None

Need to back off bac..I think.
Are you AF at 100 mg or still drinking?
If you're completely abstinent, with a lot of will power you could possibly successfully taper off baclofen, or rather stay at a lower dose, which has less SE's.Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Need to back off bac..I think.
No still drinking I'm sorry to say...never hit the switch but was down to drinking about half what I was. Now down to 75 mg per day. Feel I need to taper down so I can effectively deal with my husbands upcoming surgery and recovery...he's SUCH a great guy as well as my rock. The stress is pretty bad here as he is out of work for an extended period of time and I need to work as much as I can. So I don't know if I should try to get off bac completely and try something else with fewer side effects...or stay on a moderate dose of bac and try to get back on it later...when things are more under control? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

You should decide yourself, depending on the severety of your SE's at a certain dose.
Anyway, taper down SLOWLY and keep in mind that the effects of any change in dose might take up to 3 or 4 days to manifest itself.Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
