I thought I would start this thread in hopes of helping others locate doctors willing to prescribe Topamax. I am having a horrible time finding one and thought this may help others.

I don't think listing my doc's name would help. I live in a small town. Just wanted you to know that I went to general practicioner, not a specialist of any sort. When I went however, I took copies of articles from this website about the use of Topamax, the Lancet Med Journal study, and some articles from different sources all about Topa that I found through links here on the FAQ page. I gave my doc some time to read through them and then get back to me. I did not feel I was able to adequately describe the program or how Topa worked so I went "equiped" with the info so she didn't have to do any research, she just had to read. When she read enough, she agreed and gave me the prescription. Be informed, be honest, and be ready to keep looking.

I'm sorry you are having trouble but since it is an "off label" use of Topa, I'm not sure docs want their names listed....
