    Baclofen Sources

Hi all. This is my first post, though I've read messages here for some time.

So my question right now is: are all sources of baclofen created the same? I have a prescription for 60 mg/day, but this is not enough; however it is practically free with my insurance and I trust the quality of meds from my local pharmacy.

At Inhouse Pharmacy I can buy "Pacifen" for 0.27$ per pill and it's shipped from Vanuatu, a small island nation in the Pacific. From Goldpharma the price is about the same, and it comes from one of two Greek pharmacies. Goldpharma also sells from several German pharmacies for 0.67$ per pill, which is far too expensive, but I tend to trust German products more. Do you guys have any experience with these sources, or it there a better option that I don't know about?

That does help, thanks Palladium. Based on your message, I went ahead and ordered Pacifen; it costs just two cents more per pill from Inhouse Pharmacy than the Goldpharma Greek brands. However, it comes in discreet little 100 pill bottles, whereas the latter comes in 10 pill foil packs that make for bulkier waste. Both can be delivered through the mail.

I agree. the straight prescription baclofen from my local pharmacy is much stronger.

I keep a spreadsheet that shows how much I take from what source a day, following
Dr Ameisen's schedule, with a column for the number of alcohol units I consume. I generally use the Pacifen earlier in the day, and branded baclofen in the evening.

    This stuff really works!

      Hi,

Pacifen works well and compared to other brands works well with fewer side effects. The bottles travel well.

Wow - I feel complete indifference tonight! No desire for my usual glasses of wine.

I used only Pacifen, 100 mg, lower than my usual doses. I worked out the last half-dozen days in a row and practiced yoga twice. I drank several glasses last night. Today heading to the gym I felt slightly nauseous, but that passed when I began exercising. Afterwards I stopped at an eclectic place downtown, they were offering samples of good beers - I had maybe 3 ounces, and bought one bottle to drink while I cooked dinner. When I got home and fired up the grill, I found the idea of drinking repulsive. It now 11 PM and I have zero desire to drink. My goal is actually moderation, but perhaps some days of no drinking is part of the meaning of that.
