I know for certain that it doesn't affect the dosage. I'm not sure about the effects between them. Baclofen won't cause more SEs or anything. Evan was quite certain that Adderall might "block" the effects of baclofen to a certain degree, although nothing has been proven. I'm glad to see you, Mandie.

Do you have ADHD too? I'm considered more ADD, very inattentative. Or they say now it's ADHD the inattentative type. I'm glad you're reaching out.

No ma'am...Thank you! I'm glad to be back...it's been a long journey for me but I'm back in action and ready to give it my all.

I'm asking for a friend that I'm visiting that desperately needs baclofen but is ADHD to the point he can't work without his medicine so I don't want to make the mistake of a promise that the world is better.

          Hi Mandie,

My whole family(hubby, me and kids) is ADDish. I'm the only addict and I cannot imagine adding an ADD med to Baclofen. Meds such as Wellbutrin are given for ADD and they also exacerbate AL cravings. I get very zoned in on Bac and if I added Adderall or Ritalin I'd be counting the ant droppings on the floor..:H

Others may differ in their opinions.

            Well damnit. Thanks SnK!

I know with him, his problem his he gets to work and there's a million things to be done but wants to fix them all at once instead of prioritizing.

I know he just started the medication a couple of months ago. But I don't want him to lose his focus. He's also on an anti-depressant but he claims it's not doing anything for him...but it's clearly b/c he's a lush like us.

He's very curious about baclofen..but I don't want to promise him a good world if it ends up conflicting.

There's no reason he couldn't take both. If he needs Adderall to work and function then he really can't go off of it at this point to take baclofen. Lots of people here have used stimulants. Some have even used them to counter the somnolence SE-I'm not advocating this, just mentioning. I've taken it while on baclofen and not taken it. I prefer not to take it to be honest. But I'll go off it for several weeks and not function nearly as well. I can still work but I'm easily distracted. Adderall is like somebody lifted a curtain in my brain.

I know there was a thread started about Wellbutrin causing alcoholism. I can't say if it does for some or not. I will say I've been on and off of Wellbutrin since my early 20's. My drinking patterns didn't change until my 30's. My psychiatrist at the time actually felt Wellbutrin to be a good choice for people who abuse alcohol.

Ah, perfect. Worst case he can give it a try...if not, then baclofen will have to go.

                Thank you, Red!!!

I used to take Wellbutrin when I was 12...that was the age I began my drinking! I believe, I believe!

Hey Mandie, what I was trying to convey is that I took Wellbutrin on and off for over a decade before I crossed the line into alcohol dependence. I don't believe Wellbutrin had anything to do with it in my case. Mine is genes and a rather rough life-possibly. Wellbutrin has been the only antidepressant that has worked for me so far. It helped my ADD too. We are all different.

Oh yes, I was just being sarcastic and silly.

I'm so glad it works for you! I know I had tried many through out the years, wellbutrin being one, I simply never noticed a difference. My depression seemed to lift once I stopped drinking and that cage around my head melted away.

Of course you were! You even gave a wink after your statement. I'm not sure why I thought otherwise. I guess we kind of have to learn each others humor and sarcasm. I love both by the way. Thanks Mandie.
