Yes, it would be totally normal to pass out if you go from 45 to 120 in one day. It's called an overdose.

All the stuff I've read on here and on baclofen4alcoholism.com st that you should only increase by about 5 - 10mg at a time and give yourself about 3 - 5days on the new dose before you move up again.

I managed to get to 210mg in 8 weeks but to be honest as I got past 180mg a day it started to be butal so I have had to slow down!

The guy who runs baclofen4alcoholism.com has a book on amazon that you can buy for ?6 or $10 and its got a great explanation of how to proceed. Buy it before you hurt yourself!

baclofen doesn't feel like ecstasy at all, a higher dose than normal does not induce euphoria in any shape or form, which i have experienced by accident. I can tell you in no uncertain terms that my accidental increase of baclofen did not result in any euphoria.

To anyone reading this, don't take more than what is advised to tritate up as per prescribing guide which i have linked below. you will be disappointed if you try at best.

It's no surprise you felt like you were on ecstasy, as it works on the same GABAb receptors as bac.

I'm not judging but I'm genuinely curious - you said you have a copy of the French prescribing guide - what on God's green earth made you think you could jump from 45 to 120 in a single day???

Mania and hypomania are less common side-effects of (especially) high dose baclofen, but they *are* occasionally reported here (I've experienced hypomania myself at around 150mg/day). There have also been a handful of reports of members who claim to have taken especially large doses for the purpose on inducing (and puportedly acheiving) euphoria, and while medications can have paradoxical effects in some people, I get the impression that it is pretty rare for baclofen (at least by reading medical literature and reports on MWO). Typical baclofen overdose symptoms are CNS depression, muddled cognition, auditory/visual hallucinations, shocks to the hands/fingers, nausea/vomiting, anxiety, and feeling like shit. -tk

I do not believe that this is true. While it has been surmised that baclofen may have phenethylamine-like properties (its chemical structure contains a common feature), and mdma is a amphetamine-phenethylamine - mdma acts on serotonin and adrenal receptors, and modulates gaba transporters, not affecting gaba-b directly. -tk

No, Frankie, it's not normal TO GO FROM 45 TO 120 WITHIN 1 OR 2 DAYS.
I rather find it very stupid.
This could be exactly why your doc only gave you 75 mg for just 2 weeks. He might know you better than you think.

Are you sure you are responsible enough to self-medicate baclofen?
I hope you have learned lesson and will follow the "normal" schedule.

Sorry, I was thinking GHB, which certainly explains the passing out.

It really did feel like some sort of xtc.

Believe me I know xtc very well. Though I havent used it in years.

I have learned my lesson though, guess I was kind of desperate and feeling depressed after being clean for 3 months and now drinking again. all the addict stuff has came back.

I will take 80mg a day for now and tomorrow I will go to a clinic that has a program where clients get Baclofen. They will guide me in my use as they have many clients while still going home every day.

The struggle is a very hard one, as you all know, but I am confident I will find a way to deal with this and again function normally.

                    Thanks,

                    Frankie

                      Frankie,

Maybe one of these is an option? I think the trial still admits participants:
"The home clinic" sounds good to me.

Currently, our research is running in four clinics in the Netherlands: - SolutionS clinic (Verslavingszorg Nederland - SolutionS NL > Startpagina , Minnesota 12 steps model, hospitalization of 28 days), U-Center (Privekliniek voor Burnout, Depressie en Verslaving | U-center , broad-spectrum treatment, hospitalization of 49 days)
Ready For Change (Verslavingshulp voor alcohol en drugsverslaving | Ready For Change GGZ , Minnesota 12 steps model, day treatment of 28 days) .
Furthermore, the study is now also running outpatient at The Home Clinic
(The Home Clinic | volledige thuisbehandeling van verslaving) . The Home Clinic is an institution that offers a home treatment . Detoxification and the entire treatment process therefore takes place at home. The Home Clinic operates in the area between Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht .

The including of the participants will take place until approximately October 2014 . Because the study is double-blind (all participants are unaware of the division in the research), the data can not be analyzed at this time and there are currently no results available . The results will probably be published in late 2015
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Dude, you clearly don't get it. 45 to 80 is still way too big a jump. That's almost double. You shouldn't be going any higher than 65 according to the schedule I used (Dr. L's)

                          @Xadrian

                          Thank you,

I have been to Ready for change clinic, very good program. lots of therapy while introducing 12 steps, very intense first 2 steps and it has changed me as a person , not only as a so called addict.

I am not a 12 stepper. felt like indoctrination to me though I feel it is good for a lot people. The sponsor and meetings thing is not how I want to live my life.

They did not mention baclofen during the 6 weeks I was there and never heard any of the people there talk about it so I wonder how the research is being done. If the trial still admits participants I will gladly join . Will call right now to see what is what.

                          Thanks

Dude, clearly my doc does't get it either , clearly jumping to 120 was too much. I thnk 80 is fairly safe though.

                            Thanks.
