It is my understanding that thyroid problems can sometimes be a result of certain medications. I was taking Topamax from about September/November '06, to early this April. I had an MRI in late September, and while there was an artifact found on my c-spine, it was basically clear. Then I needed another MRI at the end of April, and suddenly I had 3 nodules on/in my thyroid. One is solid/indescriminate (about 2 1/2 cm or so) and then the other two are about 3mm each. I'm waiting to see an endocrinologist. The only medication I was on during that time was Topamax- except for a week where I was also taking some prescription muscle relaxers.
I'm curious to know if anybody who has taken topamax has gone on to suffer thyroid issues, including nodules. And did they go away with time, after having discontinued the meds?
