      Busted. Yes, I not only feel like an imprisoned Basset but I look like one as well. I just hope I don't start sleeping sixteen hours a day.

        Hopefully I'm not disappointing my critics, but my absence has been due to 12-14 hour work days reading drafts of student papers, writing study guides and final exams and preparing for yet another set of taxing performances this weekend. Who has time to drink?

        And I chose my new rescue mini pinscher for my avatar because in all my years as a pet owner/animal lover, I've never had a pet that actually smiled. Look, she's showing her teeth. Really.
        In the middle of my life's journey, I found myself in a dark wood, as I had lost the straight path. It is a difficult thing to speak about, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood is.
