She also used L-glut and other holistic approaches, though. (Though, sadly, she didn't get sober.)

Terry's comment is right on the money, avoid phenibut.01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

@Neo - I just found this list of Nootropics on website not sure if you've seen it. https://drugs-forum.com/forum/showwi..._of_NootropicsThe individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Came here to basically say what TerryK said, but of course his answer was better one thing i'll add, I found it had no effect on my cravings for alcohol. The dependence and withdrawal kicks in very quickly if used daily, for me it was about 2 weeks, its very unpleasant, similar to benzo withdrawal. You also need more and more of it to get the same effect i.e. tolerance. I did find it easy to taper off, relatively speaking compared to xanax (a nightmare)01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

Neo, I wouldn't waste your time on glutamine, its a non essential amino acid that means your body makes the glutamine it needs, I found supplementation with it did nothing to curb cravings.01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

Note: doesn't hold a candle to Baclofen though

Just wanted to give you my experience. I used phenibut successfully for insomnia and at a low dose using the measure it was great.
Once I lost the measure and dipped a teaspoon in - just the end of it, but 500g is the recommended dosage, I ended up sleeping for 2 days. I immediately recognized the problem and didn't use it for a couple or years. I used it again successfully. I haven't used it repeatedly in sequence, and I'm very aware of how powerful it is.
Of the nootropics I recently ordered hyperzine for memory issues due to loss of memory after being rear-ended and I can't give you the results yet.Enlightened by MWO

re nootropics, i researched these extensively a few years ago, there isnt much evidence behind them supporting increasing cognitive capacity, especially with racetams. though if you know otherwise, i would like to hear about it.01-01-2014 - Indifference reached, success with high dose Baclofen 295mg.

I wasn't always consistant with the Kudzu, but I do think the l-glut was beneficial.

I have purchased all this stuff and none of it does anything at all. It's hugely expensive, hard to get hold of and comes in tiny amounts. Desmopresin costs huge amounts and comes in a container about the size of a Superglue tube. It's a nose spray and impossible to administer.
If you want to read a very useful book on very good and very safe organic products to take for alcoholism then read Joan Larson's Seven Weeks to Sobriety. It's the best book out there and she recommends L-Glutamine as part of her recovery program. None of these types of products do anything on their own or in small amounts. Her advice is that drinking alcohol so destroys your gut lining that you need to super overdose yourself just to get the right amount to be effective and each substance deals with a particular problem caused by alcohol consumption and none is cure or full treatment in itself.
Baclofen is different because it tackles the problem from a different angle by getting rid of alcohol consumption to start with and then your body heals itself. Larson's vitamin plan doesn't deal with anxiety craving and everything she uses is in a normal diet which is ok once your stomach has recovered.BACLOFENISTA

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"

I've used modafinil before. It's a prescription med I got online. Works pretty well, actually. Hard to find these days, but can still be found. And if I recall correctly, it ain't cheap.
I tried piracetam a looong time ago, and didn't really find any benefit. Same with L-glut. But who knows? It may work for you...

On Thursday night my old boss and I decided to have dinner. We were great friends and haven't seen each other for 12 years. He is newly married and very happy. So, we met for dinner and over 3-1/2 hours with lots of food, 1 martini, 1 pinot with the main course and a cognac following the dinner. I remember feeling a relaxed

Ne, have you tried Mirtazapine with baclofen?
My wife's combo includes baclofen, Mirtazapine with multi vitamins and diazapam for occassional episodes of severe anxiety. She also has used Hydergine and bio-lithium. Bio-lithium is mentioned in Larson's book for better neurological communication. It improves thought processing so you stay sharper and better able to think things through. Hydergine repairs brain cell damage. Now she hardly uses any of this except baclofen and Mirtazapine in times of stress. I got hold of piracetam as well but it didn't seem to do anything.
I also got some RU21 which is mainly vitamin C to prevent further damage when she was drinking heavily, not that it helped her recover but I figured that if she was relapsing a lot then I should try to protect against the damage caused.BACLOFENISTA
