What are you going to do today?

Well, Stuck, if you can't find it in LA, then where on this big great planet could you find it?
(Hint: Amazon.com : SlimACC New Cute 4pcs Different Colors of Pastorable Roll Up Canvas Pen Bag Pencil Case Bag Cosmetic Makeup Bag Pouch Pocket for Girls Boys Students Women Lady : Pencil Holders : Office Products) and (Amazon.com : Vintage Style Rollup Pencil Case/pencil Bag/pen Pocket Model K-BD02-- PU Leather : Pencil Holders : Office Products)

I didn't know they existed, but now think they are the coolest and hope you get one soon.

Bk, that is awesome. I know a lot of people have a different experience but I loved new sobriety. Suddenly the light was unfiltered and the world was full of endless potential. I had so much energy and gusto to go out and grab it, too. Woot! Is it 4 days now? (Where are you in the world? Down under, right?)

Red, I'm going to try and figure out the reasons that people come by the hordes to this area by doing the stuff that they do when they come. On Monday mornings, after they've all gone home. I'm not particularly well traveled, but I've been some places and where you are is my favorite city of all time. I'd live there in a heart beat if the normal winter temps didn't feel like polar vortexes. Hope you can get out to enjoy some of the sights and stuff, too.

I would really like to figure out a way to enjoy the ocean without taking a sedative of some sort before I get in the water. (I hear that it's contraindicated. )

Hope it's a good day, peeps.

What are you going to do today?

        Good morning-

BK has returned to the land of the living sober.. Feeling the sassafass return. Always a good feeling.

Ne- I'm on the nearly west coast of the US of A... I wish I lived down under.. New Zealand would be nice.
Thanks for the little rememberance that today is day 4. I am most certain getting thru this month shouldn't be to hard since I have sincerely committed to it. I feel safe having my counselor to call if things get tight. It's next month that I am worried about.. Big party we are hosting. But I will cross that bridge when I get there.

I'm off to my thread to post my lengthy stuff.

        Have a good day.

And what I plan to do today is NOT DRINK.. And workout/cardio... "Mow my lawn" HA! And maybe go look for a roll up pencil holder... HA! JK..

Don't you think we should all have a pencil holder?

I bought some pretty orange flowers and some pink ones that clash in a glorious way. This, after finally finishing both gardens and the third thing-y at the driveway. And swearing that I would do no more outside, because the inside of this house is not in a very comfortable or comforting state.

The new flowers are the things I've been waiting for that will make it just...right. I realized, too, that I didn't have to feel badly about buying and planting them, and that I can actually do all the things. Or enough of them to make a difference.

I don't know why I thought you were in Oz, bk. I didn't mean to jump the gun with the count. I'll let you do the honors when and if you feel like it.

Hope you guys are having a good day, too. I might take a pic of the flowers for you to enjoy with me.

Thanks for mentioning me, and thinking about it. I do plan on doing as much as possible this summer. It's really fun bringing my nanny to the city. She's from a small town (the town I grew up in), and she finds it exciting and amazing. She's cool in other ways too. I like to take the kids camping, and she'll be on board and help me there.

Things have been crazy here. It's been so busy most days. I was working on 2, off 1 (today), on 2, off 1, on 2. Crappy self scheduling on my part, but my nanny is able to go home for Father's Day, and I didn't take any PTO.

I do feel guilty for being absent a few days. I'm not sure why. Ne, I hope you find all the awesome things to do around you. I know you live in a great area.

What are you going to do today?

Today I'm going to fence a spot for the 4 turtles (Ne, they are red-foot tortoises and they are pets, not for food).
We're almost getting a farm over here: We have 8 chickens (which are araucana's and lay green eggs, by the way), a duck, a pigeon with a broken wing, 2 dogs, 5 cats and soon 4 turtles and a peacock.

Then we have to make some passport photo's an then I have to move our bed, so my wife can clean up below it.

Rest of the day I probably will be cleaning up around the house and in the garden, because I can't continue building, because I'm out of money and I don't have any jobs left that require no or little money.

Yesterday I troubleshooted the second hand diesel generator and was able to start it. It runs fine and generates electricity, so I can use it to fix our own generator. But not in the near future.

Wednesday I bought some plants: a Gerbera, a Portulac and a Rosemary.
The Gerbera and Portulac are flowering abundantly and have beautiful flowers. That reminds me to seed some Zinnia's too.

On second thought, maybe I might do some gardening today too.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

What are you going to do today?

I was going to do some gardening as well,, but here in the good old UK it's pissing down with rain like it has been for about the last 10 days. The weeds have gone berserk, the cow parsley in the field has stems like tree trunks, & there's some sinister weed with sticky leaves that is taking over everything.

So I ought really to clean up around the house. On the other hand, if I did have someone to move my bed, what's underneath it would be too frightening to contemplate. The spiders round here grow to a huge size, even my dog is scared of them. Best leave them undisturbed. That's my reasoning anyway as I order another book for my Kindle.....

What are you going to do today?

Ten days, oy vey! Suffice it to say that the last ten days have been busy.

My family is descending (ascending?) for my grandmother's memorial this weekend. As usual we've packed way too much into way too little time, but it is what it is.

That's a mantra I'm living with at the moment. Today I'm going to clean like a tornado (imagine things flinging from living space into corners) in preparation for some friends who are house sitting for us. (Someone has to water all the damn bushes and trees and plants and herbs and feed the beloved hummingbirds!) Unlike you, Molly, we've got blistering sun and no rain in sight.

Then packing for play time and somber time and most importantly, exercising and meditating so I don't lose my mind living in close quarters with my entire family for a week. Wish me luck, folks.

Truth be told, I'm very, very excited about it and things have worked out WAY better than we could have imagined. Imagine that?

And of course, being sober, and contented, and not craving or wishing the world away, is the basis for everything I hold dear in my life. Baclofen, my way out, and you people: Thank you. :l

Not yet, we are heading up on the 3rd. Still desperately running up and down stairs with a loaded backpack on in a futile effort to get fit.

                      Too little too late...

What are you going to do today?

86 days today. Or somewhere around that. I don't want to blow 3 months of sobriety, but as the GF's move-in date approaches in under a week and a half now, is it weird that I really, really, really want to spend one of my last few nights living alone drinking by myself in my apartment?

I am going to miss those nights very much, listening to music, lights on low in the living room, a bottle at my side and a glass of ice and bourbon swirling around. Thinking about the past and regrets, vaguely hopeful for the future. Another and another drink to make everything feel OK. Ugh. Going to miss that so much.

Grrr. I just tried to post a response, but the page timed out on me. Anyway, no, that is not weird at all, Stuck. That’s what many, if not most alcoholics love best - time to ourselves - where we can drink, listen to music, think, just as you said - with no fear of arguments, embarrassment or remorse of any kind (unless you fall down and injure yourself and have to come up with some lame story about what happened, haha). Anyway (and please correct me if I’m wrong), I think you’re getting some version of “cold feet.” It’s always scary when people move in/out; it’s a life change. But, you know you want it, otherwise you wouldn’t have taken it this far, no? Do what you will - no judgements here - that’s for damn sure - but take pride in the fact that you already have 86 days today. That’s amazing! Just keep on being your awesome self. You’ve been more help to me than anyone here. I wish you the best in whatever happens with the new GF. I’m sorry, I hesitate to say the wrong thing, so I’ll sign out now.

To keep this thread relevant - what I'm doing today: Well, I already went to work, but now - I'm going to cook up a favorite dish - don't judge me. . . cauliflower with melted peanut butter, tons of sriracha sauce and a dash of soy sauce to boot. Good stuff! I'm getting my appetite back more and more, and want to make me some good stuff. Good night to all!
