What are you going to do today?
StuckinLA;1673354 wrote: 86 days today. Or somewhere around that. I don't want to blow 3 months of sobriety, but as the GF's move-in date approaches in under a week and a half now, is it weird that I really, really, really want to spend one of my last few nights living alone drinking by myself in my apartment?
I am going to miss those nights very much, listening to music, lights on low in the living room, a bottle at my side and a glass of ice and bourbon swirling around. Thinking about the past and regrets, vaguely hopeful for the future. Another and another drink to make everything feel OK. Ugh. Going to miss that so much.

Today it's Wednesday, so if nothing acute happens, I'm not going to work.
I was planning to do some gardening in the morning, but it rained quite a bit last night, so everything is wet. Instead, I'm going to burn some branches and twigs in an old oil drum. That's also kind of gardening.Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Wow. I would think that if your exGF is showing her tits, you might just be glad she's your exGF.
Hope you took the day off, X, and got some yard work done!
I'm punishing myself by sorting through mounds and miles of unfiled/unread paperwork and putting it ALL AWAY FOREVER in perfect little homes.
Oh, yes, and I have to deal with the DMV and order some baclofen. ugh. That might be too much punishment.

Ed and I live near a beach on the bay. It's salty water, but not ocean. I used to think of it as a poor excuse for a real beach. Then I realized it's the perfect beach for Ne.
I don't like the ocean. There are things in there that bite. It's one of the few irrational fears I haven't been able to let go of. I also don't like waves, wind or sand. And I'm at really high risk for bad kinds of skin cancer.
Our beach has an artificial reef made of big rocks because there's a military base nearby. It might be to help with erosion, but I like to think it's to keep the Russians from landing a submarine there. Anyway, it creates these wonderful pools in between areas of surf. Amazing really. And the beach itself is in a protected inlet, so the wind doesn't scour the sand and the surf isn't whipped into a frenzy. It's also not ocean-y enough for sharks. (Lots of rays, though. Which are cool, so they're okay.)
Anyway, I'm going to water the plants, eat some breakfast and then go on a looooooong walk on the beach. Work up a sweat and go in the water. Without Ed. I'm pushing the limits here, people. Woot.

Anywho, another day closer to the girl's long visit. Today I lined up help unpacking the truck when she gets here on Sunday, expanded my Instagram followings, and got a fair amount of writing done. Still can't quite seem to break the 250 page mark with this novel yet, but my process is weird the way I revise and go back over what I already have at the same time as I write any new material. I'm super hopeful for a 400 page draft, but that's starting to feel unrealistic. I should have 300 though, by my self-imposed deadline of July 15th. At that point, no matter what happens, I have to switch gears and go back to dissertation writing, as I'll only have about 3 weeks to a month before I owe my 3rd chapter to my committee.
Fun, fun, fun. And also this looks like a mighty fine day as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Lf7mriehU&list=PL94D95AD960FBE041&index= 6[/video]]Frightened Rabbit - The Loneliness & The Scream - YouTube
