What are you going to do today?

Yesterday morning was spent with e-mailing and telephone calls.
In the afternoon I worked on the stairs, but I was only able to finish the legs.

Today, I really have to work and gain some money.

Since a few days, the air conditioner of our bedroom is leaking water AGAIN. I can't remember how many times I disassembled the thing in the past to clean the duct AGAIN.
I HATE that thing. I have decided to buy a new one. Just a cheap one, because if everything goes well, our new house is ready before the end of the year. They sell a 9,000 BTU inverter model for US$ 480.
That should last for at least 6 months.

I'm still doubting if I will install it myself or let my airco serviceman do it. I think it will be the latter
option, because I have a lot of other things to do with my time, but I'm still not sure.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Sorry about the AC, X. For all that I love vacationing in your part of the world, the heat overwhelms me and the bugs are scary. (What is it that there aren't screens on the windows??? Sharing the bedroom with salamanders is a strange thing. I shudder to think about what hangs out under the bed.)

Good luck with the money gathering. And the AC installation!

What are you going to do today?

I'm still not sure, Ne. I left a message at my County's wildlife rescue place, and they haven't called me back yet. They open in 5 minutes here, so they'll call me then, or I'll call them again. That's great news about your aunt. That you're developing a relationship, and have accepted being part of the ladies group. I hate that voice. The one that tells us we aren't good enough. I hear it at times too. I'm glad you're not listening. 'Cause you're way better than even good enough. :l Enjoy your lunch!

I'm just running errands, cleaning, a workout, getting the kids haircuts, etc. The usual boring stuff in Redhead world.

Have a good day too, Xadrian. Sorry about the AC leaking. But at least you can fix it...again.

What are you going to do today?

First, I'm going to take a little time to cuddle with my daughter in bed. On her mornings off from preschool, we like to do that. After she wakes up, she watches a show or two in my bed. I drink my coffee and cuddle with her, while mentally preparing my day.

What are you going to do today?

              Cuddles!

And home appliances. Grr. Sorry X, that sucks.

Yesterday I wrote in the morning, then a plumber and my landlord's husband came by and decided my water heater needs a new part or maybe even to be replaced. Then I went to the gym and since it wasn't crowded, the last 2 days I've used the weight machines and now I can no longer move my arms.

Went from the gym out to where one of my friends lives in west LA, had lunch at an Indian restaurant that I love but never get the chance to go to. Buffet lunch. Mmmm. I think I stuffed a whole chicken-worth of chicken in my mouth. Then hung out with the friend and her new husband (this is the couple I went to NY for their wedding) and then went to watch the hockey game. Drank a lot of NA beers, came home and called my girlfriend, and instead of going down to my bar - where I thought I may actually end up drinking if I went - I got in my PJs and went to sleep.

              Today, repeat.

Enjoy the museum and have a great lunch, Ne! And I hope the wildlife people get back to you, Red. I wouldn't know what else to do. :l

Ok, the bird situation is this. The rescue would take them, but since we discovered them on the ground two days ago, and they are still alive, then mom bird must be coming back and we're missing her. They are fledglings since they have feathers. They can survive on the ground at this point as long as they're fed.

Phew. I feel better now. Have a nice day peeps!

What are you going to do today?

                      Daily frustrations

Last Friday morning, I decided to go for a walk. I was going to walk at the North coast of the island, because Wednesday 6 man washed onshore with their small boat. They came from Saint Lucia, where they had been fishing when their outboard engine malfunctioned.
They had been drifting for 14 days, having to drink their own pee to stay alive, until they fortunately came across our island. But they survived!

Anyway, I made the morning walk and returned to find a flat tire. The day before, I just overhauled the brake caliper on that wheel and now I had to take the wheel off again.

Anyway, because the tire had a tear, I needed a new tire. Because I have a Nissan jeep which uses A/T tires, those tires are expensive, but I don't want to drive around without a spare, so I decided to buy a new tire today.

Today I went to the service center and ordered am 8-ply Chinese tire. Because my steering wheel cover was worn, I also bought a new cover. When I tried to fit it around the steering wheel, the cover tore. I went back in and bought a mega-XL cover. It also tore, so in total I lost $ 20. Again back in, they sold me a cover which you have to lace around your steer. It cost $5 but I got it for free. Finally, this one fitted.

Then I bought the air conditioner and called my service man and he told me he will install it in the afternoon.

When I returned home, I noticed they installed a wrong tire. This one was a 6-ply tire meant for small trucks. So I had to go back again to let them change the tire.

In the afternoon I have an appointment which will take a couple of hours, at 5:30 I have to take my sons to swimming class and at 7:00 we have to go for dinner because my parents in law are married 45 years today.
                      There goes the day. Sigh..

Although it is frustrating for me, it can never be as frustrating as for the guys who drifted on the sea for 14 days, with very little hope and thinking they would die. And yet they made it.
So how small are my problems compared to that? Why am I complaining anyway? Tomorrow will be better and if not, the day after tomorrow will be.

I have to remain positive, but it makes me so damned tired. Sigh.....
But that's how life is, I guess.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

What are you going to do today?

Museum was good. The only other person who joined us was my aunt's oldest friend, so it was hunky-dory. The museum itself has just reopened after a bazillion dollar renovation. I was underwhelmed, but mostly because they didn't have a lot of multimedia stuff. How can one truly appreciate art without a tv telling us all about it? I jest, but honestly, it still looks a bit like a small town museum. I was prepared for shock and awe. What the hell does 30 million dollars buy these days? It was still a lovely day.

Only got minor stuff done. I did, however, run into a curb and explode the tire on my new (to me) car. (It was my grandma's. A 2006 with only 25,000 miles on it. Holla!) Fortunately I still have my old car, so I left the new one for the husband. (Sorry, X, that it's part of your burden!)

Sorry, too, that you didn't gather moneys. But there is tomorrow and the day after. I really appreciated that sentiment.

Relieved to hear that the birds are still alive. Hope they stay safe! Cuddles! That's awesome.

Yesterday sounds like it was fun, too, Stuck. The all important question is whether or not they won. I suppose if they'd won you would have mentioned it. Sorry I brought it up.

On to the next one, peeps. See you in the morning. Perhaps Sam will stop by and let us know how her team did?

                          just kidding...

I just like your stuff Ne... Sorry to hear about your tire.. Bummer. I am reading your other thread to catch up with things..
Did I read correctly that you lift?

But to answer your question as to what I'm doing today..
Not drinking is the most important thing I won't be doing so because I drank all weekend and worked around the house I'm relaxing today.

Sam! Brag a bit, or share so we can commiserate.

BK, all welcome. I stalk Stuck, too. And thanks. EDIT: And yes, I guess I lift. Or I did and will again. Evan's thread encouraged me to get rid of the plastic pink thingys and pile on some actual metal. (Wish they came in pink, too. 'cause there is nothing more girly than a chick with biceps. just sayin') I miss the rock hard body, but not enough to do it again. I'd be happy with eliminating all the creaks and aches, which lifting definitely improved. Do you?

I have just started lifting... And I love it but wears my ass out. I used to be a runner and that was easy compared to lifting heavy.. I'm trying to get in muscle beautiful shape you know what I mean...
As a runner I became flat so to speak. Skinny fat is what everyone calls it. So gross.

After a day of lifting and cardio I'm beat. I am hoping my body will adjust so I'm not so wore out.

                                Were you a bodybuilder?
