    New York/Long Island Baclofen Doctors

Hi - I'm new to this site, but since browsing thru I have found it incredibly helpful. Like most people here I am struggling with alcohol dependence brought on by my incredible anxiety. After reading about baclofen and all the success people have had I want to try it myself. I would rather get a script and not order it online, so that's why I'm asking for your help. Does any one know of any doctors in the New York/Long Island area currently willing to prescribe baclofen for alcoholism/Anxiety. Feel free to PM if you don't want to list it here. Thanks for all the helpful posts and thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this.

Also, I apologize if there is already a thread for this - I couldn't find one

try perhaps taking some articles and info to your regular doc if you think s/he might be receptive. Anyway, welcome.

Hi Jmc :welcome: I don't have any specific doctors to recommend as I live a good five hours from New York City. But I wanted to add that it might be worth trying different kinds of doctors if you're able to. That is, if your regular doctor is not receptive to the articles and information that you bring him/her.

I had luck with my psychiatrist, who is now prescribing me 160 mg a day (twice the maximum recommended daily amount). I was already seeing him because of my frequent panic attacks. But my point is, he's far more sympathetic to both my anxiety and my alcoholism than any GP I've ever had. Good luck to you!
