The first time I took Topiramate, I had issues with loss of hair, horrible brain fog (I would forget what I was talking about mid-sentence..so embarrassing) and losing weight I couldn't afford to lose, to the point that I looked skeletal. I still had an appetite but I could not for the life of me keep the weight on. People who have started up on this medication again, did you have the same side effects as the first time you took it?

Starting Topamax again
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has stopped taking Topamax (Topiramate) and then started up again. I went off Topamax a year ago due to pregnancy and now my migraines are worse than ever and my doctor wants to put me back on it.

Starting Topamax again
Have you tried gabapentin? It's supposed to work for migraines as well. It's not without it's side effects, but it doesn't put me in a fog and I'm still able to function at work.In the middle of my life's journey, I found myself in a dark wood, as I had lost the straight path. It is a difficult thing to speak about, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood is. Just thinking about it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death, but in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there. --Dante, paraphrased
