I don't know the science behind it and as far as I can remember, when asked, I think it was Dr Eskata ( spelling) said they interfere but gave no explanation. It seems odd as they both work on totally different receptors.
I was going great guns a few years back on TSM and after about 5 months went around 10 days without Naltrexone and drank. I also started to take a fair bit of Diazepam. Anyway long story short... I regressed like you would not believe. To this day I blame the Diazepam as I don't think half a dozen drinking days without Naltrexone could have made me plummet the way I did. I was literally back to square one and never recovered.
Food for thought.
With something like TSM where you really need to put all your trust in it, I wouldn't take the risk if it wasn't needed. You don't want to get a year down the road and realise they might have been what was hampering you all along.Last edited by *Thomas; May 11, 2015, 02:22 AM.

I don't think they interfere but I think they can alter your self-awareness, which does seem to be important in TSM. If you are consuming another addictive, mind altering drug you may not be able to figure out that you don't actually want that alcoholic drink.
The five nal free drinking days may have had more of an affect than you think. When the cured alcoholic rats had the naltrexone taken away and were given alcohol, they readdicted at a much more rapid rate than the extinction of the addiction.
So combined with benzos you could have had a double whammy.

Thomas, wow, this is a good warning to heed. I know the Xanax is totally fucking with me. I am committed to stopping them and for sure won't start the Nal until I haven't taken any for several days. I'm just having such sleep issues right now that I keep caving in to them. Are you doing the Nal again right now? You may have answered the question in another post? Sorry if I'm making you repeat a response. Anyway really appreciate the heads up.
YKB, regardless of why, I know I need to stop them according to the book. Your idea is interesting and valid I think. The Xanax makes me feel so shitty the next day I can see how confusing it would be to get going on the Nal PLUS be dealing with the next morning residual I get from the Xanax.
Wish the shipment didn't take so long, but the upside is that it gives me time to wean off the Xanax.
Thanks for the information everyone. VERY helpful.

I'm using Campral atm Choochie. I used to have a really bad benzo habit and they totally fucked up my head more than any other drug. Saying that, I was abusing them. Even if I was to take them for a few days in low doses now, my sleep pattern would be totally in ruins.
Using benzos to sleep is a bad idea imo. theyre not a good long term solution as the effects will sooner or later diminish and the rebound is usually worse.

A bit like alcohol:happy2: That sleep, not sleeping, using alcohol/meds to sleep is a horrible cycle. I don't envy you one bit.
