Hey, Nic. I cannot believe that all the people in the UK spend that much money on baclofen. There's no way! Perhaps someone will come along with a cheaper option if you really want to use it.

As far as the side effects are concerned, it helps to go really slow and to cut down on your drinking, if you can. Also, other meds can really help.

Good luck no matter what you decide. And hang in there.

I assume as you are in the Uk as you quote £'s

If you are on low income can you not apply for working tax credits which in itself should give you free persciptions? - I know people who get these but not for Baclofen - I have never heard of a GP issuing a prescription for Baclofen - What does you Physic specialist in and what is thier position?

RE: Baclofen: What dosage were you taking and what were your titration scale?

Where in the UK are you (area rather than precise location)

You were using the Bac as a crutch - it is only an aid to going contentedly AF. Accepting that you are an alcoholic and that you should not ever drink alcohol.
Once you have this acceptance it all becomes easier.
Go AF from today and take Antabuse for the tough times in the first few months to take away the choice of will I? / won't I ?.

This worked for me and no-one is more astonished then me. I was a daily wine drinker too. Now 2 years AF and content.
TBH I am not sure whats worse, SE of baclofen or being sick when Al is consumed?

I think it is important to know the OP scales consumption and full SE details before anything is considered

Spiritfree is who I trust when it comes to baclofen

If you ask him, I'm sure he will tell you where he ordered his from.

Don't wait to be offered, simply ask if it is an option. I am sure your GP would rather prescribe you antabuse rather than have to treat you for other alcohol induced conditions.

                          Hi Bull

From what Spiritfree says, you can go on the internet and search for Baclofen without a prescription and get all kind of results.

He always stresses to shop and compare, you know, the business man he is and all.

He says there is nothing to it!!

                          Hope this helps you Bull

                                Hi Nicnak

Sorry to read you are having a drink

Out of interest what was your titrating regime? - I am sure you read up on it so I am not suggesting anything by my question - I am new here and am on day 17 with Baclofen and doing well - I am interested in success and failure cases and the reason why Baclofen works for some and not others

Obviously you can tell me get lost or PM me if you like

                                Best wishes
