Okay, I just talked to a good friend who is a marketing guru.

She doesn't like medsforaddiction because she thinks that it sounds like we're selling medications...

She thinks that we need something that sounds official, something that targets the audience. I want us to be a forum for education, not just of us--the people who use the forum--but of physicians. Eventually, we'll have a website and a nonprofit in addition to the forum itself.

So brainstorm a little bit! MyWayOut is a perfect example. But obviously, it's taken.

    What else???

    Ack! Help!

Nice. Thank you both. I'll keep brainstorming, too.

My comment was not meant as an attack on you. Far from it.

By suggesting "nospiritfreezone.com" as a name for NE/NEVA's contemplated new forum, I was merely trying to illuminate the spiteful, petty conduct she finds herself engaged in, i.e., pointlessly wasting her time on creating a whole new forum for no reason whatsoever other than to exclude you, spiritfree, from contributing to an on-line baclofen forum discussion. I do hope she reconsiders what she is doing. The grown up way to handle her apparent dislike for you would be, if I may make a suggestion, for her to simply ignore your posts.

Actually, there are a number of reasons I'm setting up a new forum. One is that this site is largely unmoderated. It leads to really unproductive conversations, kinda like this one. The rest of the reasons are the following:

The need for a forum and website solely devoted to the simple idea that medications should be primary treatments for addictions has never been more imperative. Baclofen is becoming more widely used than ever before with very little information or support for people to be successful. People need our support, and I need yours to make it happen.

The mission of the forum is to share information, education and support about baclofen and other medications used to treat addictions. As most of you know, the need is urgent and is long overdue!

The forum will have active administrators and moderators, and an efficient spam filter.

Information for people to take to their physicians will be clearly located so that people can get medical support and a prescription.

It will be modeled on the successful French forum, and I will personally invite (and find!) physicians to participate.

There will be a library of research and information for those that want to expand their horizons, find out more about addictions and medications, or simply look for tools for a sober, contented life.

Just so you know, this isn't the first time this has been attempted. It is extremely difficult for a new forum to get off the ground, find members and stay active. That said, now that I've started the process, I am absolutely committed to making sure that there is and always will be a forum, and eventually a website, dedicated to these things. It's ridiculous that there isn't. I don't think that we will ever compete with MWO. The history and information found on this site is very relevant and irreplaceable. But that doesn't mean there shouldn't be a site that is solely dedicated to the use of medications for alcoholism and addiction.

Far from being a spiteful response to petty nonsense, I think it's a facet of my life's calling.

Feel free to donate, Lex. Maybe it'll get rid of me and you can continue searching for the peace and kindness toward others you've been looking for.

Ne I get offers from people who do search engine optimization all the time,I have never taken them up on the opportunity as I feel it is an unnecessary expense. In my opinion it is a bit of a scam.

My website will appear on the first page of google if the right words are typed into the search engine and it even appears with some very unusual commands.

I don't know too much about this stuff but I am of the opinion that the more people who use the website the closer to the front page of a search it becomes.

I had a competitor launch a website about 2 weeks ago and he very cunningly used words in the title that he thought would put him above me in a search,to my knowledge it has not worked for him due to the fact that my website and any social media attached to my company name is very well entrenched now.

If the new forum gets used regularly and people are talking about it online it will become very easy to find.

Thanks for the input, Stevo. I guess I'm concerned that we won't have that much traffic to begin with. It's not as though people are crawling out of the woodwork around here, even, and this place has been around a looooong time. Especially by internet standards.

And as I mentioned, it's not the first time that someone has created a new site. Although the others were baclofen specific and there wasn't really regular participation. I hope that ours will get more traffic and have more input than the others.

We shall see what happens. I'm just going to be happy to have a site!

Lex when I read that the first thing I thought was,Lex Luthor the enemy of Superman.

Is it possible that SF has made an account(I know it is)with an alter ego that is designed to seem moderate in his approach, yet is actually almost secretly disruptive?

Ne it has taken about 2 years to get my website to where it is...from little things big things grow.

Lex: Please accept my sincerest apology. I have become so accustomed to people reading what Ne or TK writes about me and becoming part of their negativity gang towards me, that I made a terrible, uninformed assumption regarding your post. You are 100% correct regarding NE's entire approach to starting a new forum. From my own experience, I have learned that when one begins a project out of spite or of an attitude of "I will show you" how much better I can do, it always leads to failure and disappointment. However, if one truly has a passion to create something because of a heartfelt positive purpose, it will succeed. Once again, out of my own ignorance, I thought that I was the only one who thought or felt this way.

I was sincere in my offering of forum names for NE because I felt as though if she did start a new forum that this would help to free this forum up to become stronger and more opened minded and helpful to all. She and her followers would have there on site to discuss baclofen and Dr. Ameisen and be a better place to discuss personal baclofen issues. I also thought that if NE did do something like creating a new forum, it could possibly help her to overcome some of the hurdles she is trying to overcome in her life now.

Again Lex, I apologize and I thank you.
