Problems with posting here
I have tried several times to respond in a thread, and I get the a message saying my post will be posted after a moderator has approved it, but they are never posted? (none of my posts has anything nearly offensive or any reason what so ever for not being posted....) Why is this?Tags: None

Well Kamfer, the good news is that the "moderators" apparently let you start a new thread, so just start posting away here. Just a thought.
P.S. You had some really good posts in the past, especially these:
Hello, I´m on a dosage of 300 mg of baclofen, and trying to taper down because I feel extremely hyper all the time, and I can´t stop obsessing about everything that comes to mind; the problem is that when I tried to taper down 10 mg each week the past two weeks I got horrible anxiety and depression on top of the obsessive

On a side note, the paradoxical effect of hyperactivity and paranoia may come from a dopamine-effect from baclofen? Because I used to abuse ritalin, and baclofen in this high dosage feels even more stimulating than ritalin ever did... for reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/406622"
A reply back to Kamfer from Ne/Neva/Ever: (07/14/2015)
Hi, Kamfer.
I was pretty speedy when I got over 300 mg, too. I was also completely bamboozled. I went down dramatically, initially. (Not a good idea.)
I think you can use other medications judiciously. I do. Intermittent benzo use...my pDoc told me that I could take it for 10 days, initially, when I was having serious anxiety and panic attacks. Now, I have them for really taxing occasions. She advised that I never take them two days in a row, never take more than a certain amount a day, and don't use them to feel "normal".
I am taking several other medications, and still switching them around, to combat depression (and anxiety, of course). So my sleep is pretty cattywampus, and I couldn't tell you what might work for you.
Atypical antipsychotics have helped a bunch of people with sleep and side effects, but you should really get it from a doctor who can help manage it. I used benadryl and melatonin, with varying degrees of success.Last edited by Spiritfree; March 20, 2016, 08:45 PM.

Wtf?The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Luckily, I have come down to a dosage of 160 mg, and I am still indifferent, but the side effects are now tolerable. Anyway, it was your thread, sf, about ibogaine I was trying to reply to. So I´l just post it here then:
I keep an open mind about ibogaine as something that can be researched, and maybe in the future to be used for addiction, but as of now it is not safe to use ibogaine, as it can lead to heart failure, and it is quite irresponsible to be recommending this to people. I will very much welcome any substance that is more effective and with less side effects than baclofen, but right now, baclofen is the most effective and safe (if you can tolerate the side effects).
For reference: "In recent years, alarming reports of life-threatening complications and sudden death cases, temporally associated with the administration of ibogaine, have been accumulating"

Kamfer, I'm really glad that you decided to post despite the drama in this thread. I'm also thrilled for you that baclofen is working at a dose you can tolerate.
As I mentioned in my previous post, when I went over 300mg, things were not okay. But when I titrated down, eventually stabilizing at 220mg, I was fine and still indifferent.
I am definitely looking forward to the day when there is an alternative to baclofen that has the same effect without all the side effects.
Glad you're well.

This Alsation is gorgeous. I am going to have to get some photos of him. When the two of them run together through the olive orchards it looks like two cuddly toys escaping from a cuddly toy factory.BACLOFENISTA

In addiction, suppression of symptoms should suppress the disease altogether since addiction is, as he observed, a "symptom-driven disease". Of all "anticraving medications used in animals, only one - baclofen - has the unique property of suppressing the motivation to consume cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine and d-amphetamine"
