    Low dose baclofen

I'm sure this subject has been mentioned in various posts on the forum over the years, but not being here regularly I wanted to ask this again as a question.

Are there many people here who have found success using baclofen at a dose of 75-100 mg per day or less? I ask because this is being offered to me by a doctor, and I have only tried baclofen at very low doses so far. I'm going to give it a try but I was just wondering about the experiences of others.

I will report back here if this helps me further reduce/eliminate my continuing use of lowish amounts of alcohol (7 standard drinks per day, down from 21 a few years ago) and a low amount of cannabis (1 cone per day, down from 3-3.5). I have also developed a habit of rotating pseudoephedrine 120-150 mg per day and tramadol 150 mg + codeine 45 mg per day, I've been doing this as a mood and energy boost but am worried about being/becoming a polydrug addict....maybe baclofen can also reduce the desire to use these substances as part of its anti-addictive effect.

Hey Greg - There is a new, moderated forum that focuses on using Baclofen and other medications to treat addiction: Forums - The End of my Addiction - It's definitely worth it to sign up and have a look over there.... Also, I know that there are a few folks around that have benefited from lower doses of Baclofen in the range you are describing (kronkcarr comes to mind). Lastly, there is this study outlining the prescribing practices of 302 alcohol specialists in France, which describes that mean effective dose used is ~60-150mg/day, so lowish doses are definitely working for a sizable portion of people.

    Hope this helps,

Hi Greg- I hope the baclofen works well for you. May it enable you to look back with astonishment soon at your current estimation that seven drinks a day is a "lowish" amount of alcohol!

Though big congrats of course on getting it down to that level from 21 drinks a day!

Hi Greg and thank you for posting. Please visit the new forum that TK mentioned (you very likely receive positive interaction from a few Baclofen experts) and please review as much as you can on the threads contained herein on this forum. I have the easiest and best way for me to search this for certain information is to use Google with the MWO keywords plus specifically at what you are trying to find. Good luck to and I hope you find the answers that you are looking for. Have you looked into any of the other medications available? (Topa, GabaP, etc.)

I had success with 80 mgs of baclofen. My doctor started me out at 30 mgs and slowly increased my dosage up to 80. I have a thread here you can read to see how it went for me. You can click on my name and see all the threads I've started. It'll be at the bottom of the list. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
