Chicago Psychiatrist Needed for Good but Frequently Drunk and Always Anxious Hubby

Hi,

Well, what a wonderful place I have happened upon! Congrats to all of you who have found some measure of success.

I have a husband that I am trying not to lose one way or another, and so I want to find him some help. He's has been going to just regular therapy for a year with no improvement, so he's looking for something else. He asked about medical treatment, but neither of us knew there was anything available.

Anyway, he is taking venlafaxine now for anxiety/maybe depression, but we have discovered that velafaxine can increase alcohol cravings. We need someone who can just treat the whole package - help him get off of venlafaxine and onto something else (if that's the right course) and onto baclofen or topa.

Any recommendations in Chicago or the Chicago suburbs? I read about Fred Levin, but he seems to have all but disappeared...phone disconnected, not listed anywhere, so I'm guessing something bad went down with him.

Glad to see you are getting some replies, I do not know anyone in Chicago.
The only comment I have is that I find it great you husband has someone to advocate for him. It is difficult when we are in the thick of things to advocate for ourselves.
