It's not really you who wants to drink; it's that asshole AL trying to trick you into thinking you want to drink. He can't put himself to your lips on his own, so he has to try to convince you to do it for him. Try to find something to do. Hey, I sometimes like to scream into a pillow, and then beat it up. You will feel like a million bucks if you don't let him push you around.

I feel normal! Well, that is if you are lukalee. I tell family members I need to get a towel and stuff it in my mouth and get in the back of a closet and do a primal scream. Nerer thought about the beat it up part but will put that on the back burner.

I figure one needs to get that tension out somehow. I've never been in a physical altercation in my life (other than my sisters beating the snot out of me). So I figure it's at least worth that!!!!!!!!

HaHa ha! I got grounded for a week for wailing on brother and we both had black eyes. Kinda hard to lie to parents huh? So... relative to that, I don't even have to say this do I?

Lizzy, I was hoping you were feeling better after chat. Sorry that you are still at odds with this.

See, I told you about the water and vitamins! lol Seriously, hun, water is sooooooo important to flush the AL out of your system and to really hydrate yourself again. Alcohol can be so dehydrating and when you are dehydrated it cause a lot of health problems, especially headaches.

This will pass. Hang tough! You can do this. We are here for you.

Best of luck to both you and hubby!

I've thought for months that you just post to see your own postings. You have nothing intention of quitting drinking and are no help to others. Take a much needed break from the message board.

Lizzie - detoxing through the first few days is going to be rough. No doubt about it. I have been there a couple of times.

Drink lots of water, and get in some b-vitamins. Eat healthy meals if you can. Just be extra kind to yourself over the next little while. Keep checking in here and get the support you need.

                            Lizzie,

I agree with what everyone else is saying. Drink lots of water and eat whatever it is you are craving (even if you normally wouldn't) and as much of it as possible. I find that if I get some liquids and food (especially protein) in me it really helps settle me down. If you can get through today without drinking, your chances are even better tomorrow that you won't drink and you will feel so much better. Hang in there and stay on the boards. Good luck to you and your husband. You both can do it together.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

I agree with the water! some days i drink so much water i feel like I am going to float away!!!! :H I also find that eating small meals and snacks throughout the day keep me occupied, and those supps really help, particularly later in the afternoon when its almost time to go home. I also try to schedule my gym time right after work, the exercise and the supplements keep my mind off having a drink right then and there. Also, you are lucky to have your husband working with you through this for the both of you!! Best of luck, i am sure you can do it....
