Good for you. Sounds like you are doing great. I also read that an epsom salt baking soda bath is very good for you once a week to detox.

        MB,

Fantastico! You are to be commended! Those first days are hell. I think it got better for me day 6-8, by day 8 I was in good shape. Lots and lots of water. Ditto on the hot baths. I ate sparingly. Slept alot. Also, had a Xanax prescription that helped with nervousness and anxiety. Keep going! You can do it!

        :h Best

        23 days AF! :H

Good Advice...Slept better last night and was not shaking this morning and balance better. Am now off to excercise at the club and then will go into Seattle and Pick up my Ava and dog, Blix. How are you doing today? We seem to be walking next to each other on this path of sanity. Hugs, mb

This has been a very helpful thread to me. All I did is not drink for two days and I feel so yucky. Reading all this has been helpful.

I had it too and it will pass. Then you will realize that you do have a brain.

Day 5...congrats!...I'm in the middle of day three...I feel a bit better, but also worried if my brain is permanently damaged. I trust when you all say it gets better....because it has from 1-3...

I'm shooting for day 4 tomorrow and look forward to hearing what day 5 is like...

                      I'll be thinking of you:h

                        Hi SB,
I am proud of you. And thanks for reaching out to me. My experience is that day 4 and 5 are the worst. Foggy head, grumpy, that awfull thirsty feeling that no amount of water can quench. They say it gets better then.
Just had bad news from a friend who landed in hospital today because of depression following a huge binge - his excuse is that it is because his 18 year old son tested positive for drugs. We all know it is a bullshit story - but what can I say to him when my own excuses are so pathetic. Stress and loneliness etc. etc. A member of his AA group committed suicide a few months ago after a drinking spree. This beast has me really scared!
                        Thinking of you.

                          re: 4th day without

Hang in there! Today is also my 4th day without....Just fyi ? I have been drinking every day for the last 10 years, on average ? bottle of wine plus 1-2 whiskies. Rarely got very drunk, but almost never had a day without? So on Monday, I decided to stop (my second big attempt). It is not easy?.I am dreading the weekend.
