    Those With Bi-Polar Disorder

    Hi
Just wanted to add my experience in. I have taken SSRIs such as Seroxat (Paroxetene), Citalopram and they made me MANIC to the point I was literally climbing the walls, I needed urgent medical help to calm me down. I have took Exeffor on and off for the past 4 years now and they are fine with me. I must admit I did have side effects the first 2 weeks in that they made my anxiety worse and had to have additional diazepam to help me through that period BUT now they are fine with me. I was prescribed them for post natal depression and then when I fell pregnant again I weaned off them with no problems, I started up again once my second child was born and have been fine so far (8 months). I have been told by my psychiatrist that I need to be on them for at least 5 years. Overall my experience with Exeffor has been positive. XXXSeto

I would trust your psych doctor more than a GP. They are specialty trained and can better prescribe these type meds.

Feeling all of you. Wishing relief and rest for you. I have a older brother who is bi-polar and he has suffered so. Medicines have been a challange. I, as well, have struggled with moods and tried many meds such as Effexor and Lexapro. Mania aplenty, very unnerving.
I do know the correct meds , as mentioned with your body chemistry, can do wonders.

              Wishing you all the best.

Lukalee, you're not an asshole. It takes a lot of courage to go to therapy. I need to go back! And BTW, I'll take that swift kick in the ass you mentioned on the other thread. I need it.

Well, no better time than the present, as the saying goes. Do I need to take a trip over there and drag you somewhere? Or can we just try holding each others' hands when we need it? I know I need it too right now. We can start a new thread. What can we name it?
