    Feeling really down...

Hi Sweet! It's true. All of us here struggle just like you.....we all "KNOW" the same stuff....the wagon I jump on from time to time gets mighty slippery and sometimes I fall off...not proud of that....but, I get back on!
There are many options/ways of doing this. But you have to learn/read...do whatever you can to arm yourself againist it and decide for yourself and your family which way will be best and successful for you.
We've all been where you are and will be here for you. Read, read and post when you can.
Good luck! You've made a great first step by doing this!

      Feeling really down...

      Hello Sweet and Welcome!

I worked at a similar company to yours. Always there was drinking after work with dinner. That is when I got really bad. I know your frustration (as does everyone else at MWO) and you are in the right place. I find the supplements really work for me but I have to be diligent. My husband and I live in a very social community and there are always parties, dinners, etc. and I have very little willpower. Keeping a journal also helps me. I just hope that no one ever reads it!!

The worst part is that you have to do this for yourself and no one else. I have realized that I will die if I keep this up and I don't want to leave a wonderful life. Hang out a while and when things get tough we can help each other. If you need a buddy I am available. You can PM me or we can chat (although most times I can't access chat). Stay strong. Gabby.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

        Feeling really down...

Just a quick note to thank everyone for posting and allowing me to read. I am currently on day 14 AF with no supplements, only MWO and the "army" Thanks again

Not sure if i am in the right area, but I am sure I can figure it out eventually.

My prayers go out to the storm victims.... So many have it so much worse off than we do.

        to old for this

          Feeling really down...

Hi Sweet and To Old for this-

Welcome. I understand the work thing totally- I worked in the bar trade for 25 years, and drinking was very much part of the job.

The only way I can stop for any length of time is with antabuse, maybe that would be an option for you sweet? There is loads of information on the antabuse thread- it doesnt only help with the physical side of it, it also takes alot of the mental anguish away.

There are a number of people using it here.

To Old- why don't you come and join out AF army thread- sounds like you are doing great, and the more the merrier there. The thread starts afresh everyday-

          Hope to see you there!

            Feeling really down...

            Welcome Sweet,

It sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Perhaps your spouse will go a few days AF with you for the moral support. Enlist his help - unless he wants to single parent your 3-year old, you need him to be a part of your support system not a trigger for more drinks. My husband enjoys a drink, but has agreed that we keep a minimum of booze in the house - and none of my old poison, vodka. He's mostly a beer man which I can take or leave. A good support system will go a long way toward attaining and keeping sobriety. That, and the MWO program with this wonderful world of sympathetic and caring people is the best way I know to achieve our AL goals.
