How can I help my husband

My husband is alcoholic, for the last 2 weeks he has not been able to eat or keep anything down, its a continual feeling of nausea and he has no energy. He had liver tests last year and it showed there was some damage but they werent too bad, can anyone tell me what it is hes going through just now, he tries to cut back and just drinks little but he doesnt feel any better.

    Jinty,

He must go to the doctor. Don't let him put you off. You and he must find out what is causing this and you won't until he is given some tests.

    Take care,

Good to hear it, Jinty. My daughter had similar symptoms and it was from drinking. Only tests can tell for sure.

Let us know how it goes.

ouch been there done it,ask him to go to a detox,or emergency for at least 3 days thats how it is done here anyways, the detox will give him a brake and there is a bit of councilling there usually, during the week days,it will get him and YOU a break,

yes he does know Im on here, I dont find treatment in the Uk good for alcohol dependent people, the doctors prescribe tablets and thats it, they not very sympathetic.

                              jinty,
I know it's hard for you, I'm watching my brother and brother-in-law slowly poison themselves with alcohol. It's great he's going to a doctor. I hope they run a full battery of blood work and scans of the liver, kidney and pancreas.

Can he mix beer with tomato juice? Anything like that?

He'll need to be detoxed. He probably can't do this on his own. Good luck to you. My thoughts are with you and your husband. :l
