What have the doc's said about her temp being so high for the last 4 days??? have they given you any other options for keeping her temp down, I remember reading someware that is harder for kids to regulate their temp than it is for adults. do you have a family Doc who could speak the hospital & have her admitted so they can keep monitoring her.

Hi Universal, I am not sure who you are talking about however anyone who has a temperature that high needs to get to the ER. The fever needs to come down quickly.

        Hi Uni,
Your daughter definitely needs to go back to the doctor or hospital. Have they drawn blood cultures? She could have sepsis. My kids have had it, and it can be treated with the "correct" antibiotics. If I were you, I would ask. Keep me posted. I am here for you.

          Hi Uni-

don't know how long ago this thread was started.

You can piggyback advil with tylenol every 2 hours. I am not an MD but that was what my pediatrician always told me for my kids. also, a temperate bath is good to help bring the fever down. You want to keep it down to avoid seizures. not to scare you.

          hope this helps

I guess I'm to late for this, but you may want to keep this in mind next time someone has a high temp. You could try this. Its called vingar socks.

Soak socks or towels in luke warm vingar water. Put the socks on, cover with extra towels.
I used this when my kids have really high high temps. The hospital told me to try this before I bought the kids into hospital The panadol was only working for the 3 hours and then their temps would flare up again. It really does work. Don't know how but it does. It was enough to keep the temp. down in the night and then I took them to the doctor in the morning.

Uni, let us know how she is. I would push for some answers, I think blood work is in order if she has been on anti's for more than 36 hours and still has a temp that high. We have had a few sacry events with ill kids...it's something you don't want to mess with. I say put on the (I mean business mommy pants) and demand for something more.

                prayers!! nat
