    Withdrawal symptoms

I?m having what I would consider normal withdrawal?.I tossed and turned in bed all night. I?m a little shaky and I overall up and down all day. Is having a nervous stomach part of withdrawals? I haven?t been able to eat anything today without running to the bathroom afterwards.

I know it will pass, I just want to know what is normal???

    Withdrawal symptoms

Hey jamieaz. I think that is pretty normal. It is for me anyway. I dont eat much while I drink. I go on binges. It takes me 2-3 days before I can eat a 'normal' meal and then my appetite comes back with a vengence! I find the sleeping gets back to normal between 3-5 days, but differs between people. I also sweat quite badly for a few days. So, id say for a few days thats pretty normal.

      Withdrawal symptoms

I sweated horrendously....drenched to the point of having to change the bed numerous times. Withdrawal symptoms, for me, last a lot longer than 5 days. mine can last anything up to 3 weeks. I am 20 days now, and was drenched in sweat night before last. Anxiety and panic attacs come from no-where and for some reason, my legs are driving me mad itching. And yes....I had a very overly sensitive stomach too. I try to think of it, as all the toxins coming out.

        Withdrawal symptoms

It sounds like withdrawal symptoms to me. It's the shits isn't it? Good grief, I am glad those days are long gone.

Drink lots of fluids, even if you don't feel like it. Try to get some vitamins into you; if you can.

If you feel like something is wrong or your symptoms get worse, please get medical help.

The first few days really do bite.

Thanks everyone. At least I know it is normal. I would say the "shits" are the worst, and if anything else happens I will make sure to seek medical attention.

This is enough to keep me away from AL knowing what happens when you stop!

That's a very healthy way to look at it! Hang onto that, and promise yourself you won't ever go through THIS again!

                Hi Jamieaz

Are you taking Kudzu? A lot of people take it as benefits them and they have no problems, but it had my sprinting to the toilet every time I took it.

                Take Care.

                  Betty,
I'm not taking Kudzu. I normaly have a weak stomach....might not be the best idea for me to take it. Or I will need to make a trip to Costco for TP and not WINE!

                    Jamie,
The first 4 days for me were bAAAAAAAdd. I thought hang overs were bad but those first 4 days-totally different kind of bad. But it did start getting better. But I'm like you, I never want to do that first week again.
I just looked at the clock. 11:00 oclock here and you're almost through your first friday!
                    AF since 7/26/2009

Don't let my experience stop you trying Kudzu - it does work for many - maybe just try it when you can stay at home!

                        Withdrawal symptoms

I hate to sound like I'm having an easy time of this, but I am not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms so far, yet from the posts I've read, it seems the most likely scenario to giving up AL. I'm on Day 4. Does anyone know of them suddenly kicking in later?

And Stepintime, you wouldn't be menopausal would you? The itching legs made me think of that.

Hiya Nicked. Sounds like you'll be ok re-withdrawal's. I've never heard of anything 'kicking in' withdrawal wise later on, not in my experience, anyway. Withdrawal can be easier for some, than other's. I try to never forget the misery, pain, stress, anxiety, trauma, embarrasment, depression, fear, and the slow death of my mind, body, and beautiful spirit, that alcohol causes.
Congratulations on day 4! Head up, keep walking, and watch all the joys of the universe unfold for you, because there is magic there, and it's your's to have!

                            Lilmea,

I agree it has been a different kind of bad. I'm feeling a better today, and I did eat pizza last night for dinner and didn't take off running for the toilet! So here is to the little things in life.....a solid stomach!

                              Withdrawal symptoms

I have been on this site about a month and have decided to go AF tomorrow (I failed AM miserably). I too am worried about withdrawls....drink 1 1/2 1.75 lts of vodka a week, have for 2 years and cannot remember the last day I didn't drink. Can any of you prior "hardcores" give me an idea of what I might go thru?
