    docs suck!

    Twin,

Same thing, my doctor looked at me like I was drunk (which I wasn't at that time) and gave me Anti Dep. I'm not depressed until I drink.....WTF

I ordered online and I think they came today.

Go back armed with books, thought and tell what you need to help you, and if he doesn't get it find a new doctor.
Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it!

      docs suck!

      Hi there

I really don't think a primary care doctor is qualified to prescribe those meds and it's kind of outside what their peers are doing. I strongly advise asking your doctor for a referral to an addiction specialist or finding your own.

        docs suck!

Twinsmommy, I'm sorry you had that experience...reaching out for help and getting nadda! Not like it's not hard enough already!
        I hope today goes better.

I was wondering if that's possible...to come up with a list of supportive Docs wherever we find them and post it here?

Also, I thought I was alone in the drinking more on antidepressants...thought i must really be off somehow!

Twins, the Xanax will certainly help with the panic attacks/withdrawal I just advise to be careful with it as it is so addicting. I was on it at one point then was taken off of it b/c of the addictive side of it.

I wish you the very best and hope that you can find something that works. Just remember no pill is the magic pill. You have to want this within yourself you have to want this more than anything, then you will succeed.
