HELP!!!
Well, today has sucked....
I have a great relationship with my step-father. He took me out to lunch today so we could talk about my Mother/his wife.
We both know that there's a slim-to-none chance (from what the doctors say) she'll recover and we both know how she'd never want to be kept alive artificially. So, we signed the papers to make her a DNR. Should her heart stop again, I guess that's it. Of course, we're still hoping that won't happen. The hard part was telling my grandparents. They understood and agreed with us. But, God help me, the look on my grandmother's face.....I just don't know if she can bear this. Of course, I don't have children, but it's got to be the hardest thing on earth to lose a child. Even if that child is an adult.
Mama always said that doctors always give the worst-case scenario to avoid being sued, so we're hoping for the best. Maybe they're wrong??
I've been crying a lot today, but have met some really nice people in the ICU waiting room. It's made me realize that I'm not the only one hurting.
I really appreciate all the support I've gotten here. There's not much to do while waiting for visiting time at the hospital. Just reading magazines, snacking, chatting with other families, and praying. Not getting much sleep, but they let us move the chairs around at night to make a "bed".
Thank you all. I'll post updates as I receive them.

HELP!!!
Dear Amy,
I've been following your posts and wishing for a happy outcome for you all. I share your Mama's sentiment about doctors, the way they are educated is to seek out problems and err on the side of caution.
Have you considered a healers help? When my father was in ICU after a stroke, we did that for him and he improved enough to live for a further six months much to the surprise of the doctors.
I echo what others have said, you sound a wonderful daughter and a testament to your mother's love and care.I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.

HELP!!!
Still praying... for a miracle Amy. Reach out to those whom you trust. Let your friends & family help you. Feeling hopeless, helpless, & other intense emotions at this time is natural. My heart also breaks for you. The Lord cries with you, suffers with you. May the Lord himself hold you up, for his love is unfailing. . God Bless You

HELP!!!
Amy,
Sending lots of love and support your way.. its good that you have your step-father and grand-mother... you all need to get strength and comfort from each other during this difficult time.
My son was in ICU when he was just 8 weeks old (he's now nearly 2).. so I know how hard it is to see someone you love being so sick.. don't give up hope, miracles do happen..
Love K xx"It works if you work it, because you are worth it!!!"
