      Oh honey..
you must be careful if you have a history of epilepsy..
tapper slowly, keep a record on paper what you have to drink each day, doesn't matter if you are down to 2 per day for a few days and then when you are comfortable go to 1 day til it really doesn't bother you...
      and then none..
      epiletics should be zero AL,

are you on meds for the seizures..?? or just controlled by nuerologist

      take care,
      LJ

My doctors just tell me not to drink .... I don't like to drink but am so afraid of seizures .... which happened in past two years. You can't say I have "recurrent seizure disorder" when I haven't fainted in 30+ years but now I do ... i'm scared.... stress is unbelievable

Janka, stress can be one of the triggers plus the alcohol, have you tried Baclofen yet or looked into it ??
it was actually first developed for seizures (epilepsy) sounds nasty but that is what it is, and once you understand it and how and why, you will be able to deal with it without geting stressed out..!!
Baclofen deals with the Gamma receptors in our brains, musclar spasms, multiple sclerrocis and simular it is only now being recognised for it's withdrawl and anti-craving efects.
I took it after seeing it here first and read so many post of people that are taking it, I finally jumped in and started a thread as I urgently need to get dry because the social services, who have my young son were demanding I had weekly AL breath tests..
I shit myself coz I was still drinking, although not as much, but still on it..
if I was to have any chance to get my baby back I had to be clean....
so I asked deperately for help but was frightened coz of my seizures...

Tiptronic and a few other friends in the Army thread, held my hand and pulled me thru the weekend, I had to stop.. I was tappering coz when I tried to stop cold turkey they all said NO don't
also I was being sick, heart racing, thought it was gonna pump out my chest, sweats, panick attacks until I had a beer..slowly drank it, things calmed down..
had 2 more over the day and bought Baclofen..
started taking it very small amounts at first but it really worked..I was lucky it was the weekend so I was just vegging on the sofe thru the process..
come monday the day of the test I was fine in the morn and strong enough for the test...
it was negative ..I jumped for joy..
but started to feel bad with the withdrawls, so I had one beer slowly.
I stayed with the Bac and got the supplements and bit by bit felt much better, all this was back in October.
By Jan 2nd this year I finally cracked it...
still take my Bac and my other meds for the seizures..I never want one of those ever again...
What has been your story so far ???
I hope me telling you this may be of some help for you..???

          :l:l
p.s. I get my son back in June ....

depends on your consumption and the regularity
                  ie: are you drinking daily???
is it only beer with ice??
                  the strength of the beer??
how do you feel if you miss a beer for one day ??
                  cravings??
                  sickness??

or just scared of the seizures coz you don't drink??

mainly how do YOU feel if you miss a day??
                  is it psychological??
                  or physical??

                  there is a BIG difference....
                  think about it??
let us know so we know how we can help you..:l:l

but how much recently are you drinking?? is it more or less 9 per day??
if so don't go cold turkey..!!

tapper down and get some Bac
it will relax you and help with any danger of seizures..
but DO NOT go cold turkey..!
if you were lately only one or two beer daily, you shouldn't have a problem to slowly let go.
and then when you are comfortable STOP..

the doc has told you, as you have had episodes of seizure, do not drink.!!

                      but slowly stop...

                        Need Help

the last time you was in hospital was it after a seizure???
if so, they would have checked your blood, and would've noticed if there was an AL problem..!!
and would've told you off and to stop the AL, and would've adviced you how..
so could be your body is not as physically dependant as you think, so it is more pyschological..
                        which is a good sign..
at least you know what you are dealing with and how to handle it..
