What now?
4 days
Hi guys,
First and foremost....:thanks: very very heartfelt thanks for all your messages of support and encouragement.
Just got home, they only kept me four days but by day three did not need anymore meds, shakes all gone. REALLY enjoyed (not) the thiamine jabs in the butt every day. Really enjoyed (not - except the scrambled eggs) the standard of the food but man I ate heaps of it and we all had a system of ordering extra fruit, extra bread.....whatever i.e. "if you don't want bread with your meal order it anyway or if you don't want fruit, or if you don't want desert.....all of which went into the fridge or cupboard so there was something available when someone had the munchies.
In just those four days the weirdest thing is my fingernails which were cracking and yuk have already started to harden up.
My liver function was starting to look stressed but nothing which should not recover quite well in time.
Have had only one nights sleep without med but it was not disturbed at all - hope that doesn't change now that I am back in the big bad world.
They started me on Campral yesterday and I have a supply here and will continue, interestingly they said that for my weight in the past I was prescribed only half what I should have been taking. Also will continue on thiamine (B1) three times a day and multi vitamins.
Still going to stay on the waiting list for the rehab programme because the "group" in detox just focused on the what's and how's of addiction not on planning or maintaining.
Staff were mostly wonderful caring and compassionate, although the group facilitator sucked!::bang" I'm not trying to counsel any of you to do anything really special, except to dare to think and to dare to go with the truth and to dare to love completely." -R. Buckminster Fuller
