Perhaps Sallie is somone protecting her identity, perhaps not. If she is trying to protect herself while offereing a different point of view, can you blame her? Just look at this ugly attack!

Support comes in many different ways. It is not always true support to simply tell somone "It will all get better soon" really does nothing at all...IMO. Frankly, I found what Sallie had to say has merit. To say to somone, your husband is a pediphile and beats you and only a couple of days later show "support" for this person to stay in the situation and protect a perpetrator makes no sense!

In recovery, it is critical to speak your truth. Even and perhaps especially when your point of view might not be popular. I realize that those that still drink away their feelings may not understand this.

When we speak of "Support" I ask that everyone think about what support truly means. It means supporting everyone's right to their own point of view, as long as it does not become abuse.

Agreed. I didn't expect everyone to agree with me. But I also did not think that what I wrote was cruel or hateful. It was and is my thoughts and opinion.

Like T says i think, hey , lets all just take a chill pill huh?
Its not often things spill over here on the threads. But when they do we need to take notice. Not dwell...but we need to recover our composure & then take stock. This site is not just about alcohol. It is about LIFE & it is about PEOPLE. And i for one KNOW that those2 issues are what drove me 2 booze. So i will not have this site crapped on, by any of us.
We all lose it once in a while - is human nature.
Throw al into the mix & u have a very dangerous concoction.
So, please, anyone who is interested in their own recovery, stay here & let's work through this together.
Anyone who wants to judge or condemn anyone else here maybe needs to question their personal motivations.
I rarely get angry & am getting pretty f***g close here
