Trying to give up.
Steve sometimes we have to take it a minute at a time. Remember cravings are just feelings, they will pass. Sorry if that sounds simplistic, I know only too well how hard it can be but it can be done. Stick close to the boards, drink plenty of water and maybe go to chat. Trust me when I say we do understand, as only people who have been there can. I would also recommend reading the book and suppliments. L-glutamine is very useful for helping keep the lid on cravings.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Trying to give up.
Starting to feel better. I read a lot of your links Sheri and a lot of things people hate when being drunk sounded so familiar ...
KTAB cravings did pass thanks to all the water. Few more hours and i can call it a day and sleep. I think i will take a sleeping pill just to make sure i get a full night sleep. Last night i kept waiking up and looking at the clock and it moved so slow. I ordered L-glutamine and Kudzu. Havent tried any medication in order to stop me drinking before so really got high hopes for it.

Yep the first few days are a nightmare, but doable. You'll soon feel a whole lot better. Read Sheri's fantastic thread on 'Junkie Thinking' it is so true of nearly all of us here.
Keep today as simple as you can and don't over reach yourself.

Hi Steve, like JC says, the first couple of days are horrible - but it's incredible how quickly you will start feeling better - it doesn't take weeks or anything. In my personal experience of giving up (of which I have plenty believe you me!!) by Day 3 you really start coming around and each day after that is like an epiphany for want of a better word, just struggle through today and you'll be amazed how much better you will feel tomorrow, it's worth every little bit - I promise.
