No Tea
jessie;935154 wrote: I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right thread, but this morning I woke up with anxiety bad enough to chase me out of bed early. I had a suspicion though that's it low blood sugar and hastily made a cup of tea with a spoon op sugar and a digestive biscuit. Sure enough the anxiety were soon much better. Have any of you experienced this? Or it might be helpful for someone else.

Negative Effects

Benedryl, if you mean the cough medicine contains alcohol!!!!!So not a good choice really unless counting it as part of a taper. Regards the nervousness etc, to be honest it passes within a short amount of time and is minor compared to shakes, fits etc.
I know this is a bit hardline but for me I looked at the days when I couldn't sleep etc as something I had to go through. If there were no negative effects it's not going to put us off drinking, and it's one experience I use in my arsenal/resolve not to drink again. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying horsewhip yourself or put yourself in danger, but it's something that can be gotten through and is minor compared to the suffering AL causes.
By the way one thing I did use, and still use now is camomile tea. It's a natural relaxant but non-habit forming. So very good for withdrawls, times of stress etc.
