    Day 1 and feeling strange

Day 1 off the horrid Venlor. First day of Zyban and 5mg x 3 of Baclofan. Felt different and a bit offish - but mostly scared, what have I started?

    Day 1 and feeling strange

Baclofen makes most people very sleepy the first several days and any time you up the dose. It can take awhile to get use to.
You have changed 3 things at once. Was this on doctors advice? It is hard to know if your symptoms are from the 2 new drugs or stopping the one old drug or a combination.
Remember to spread the baclofen out through the day and don't drink while on it as the drinking makes the side effects worse.
    Good Luck
    Sunny

Bac at 10 mg makes me feel dizzy intermittently. I'm not sure it's for everyone. I've been on 10mg for two weeks and still have dizziness when standing up.

Personally, I've decided to go back to topiramate. Much fewer affects for me. Bac is a muscle relaxer. And it IS a drug. It should NEVER be shared or self-prescribed, IMHO. Others have a dif view, I understand. At the least talk to a pharmacist about the drugs you take together. And be careful, OK?

                    blueskyes,

Baclofen does make you sleepy. Zyban also made me feel a little weird a few years ago when I tried it.

One of the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal syndrome is high blood pressure, btw.

I hope it works for you.

Rubes, Topamax is a drug, too. One I am especially allergic to. Unfortunate because it also treats my other issues, too.

:welcome: blueskyes. I hope you stick around and give giving up your best shot.

ps Methinks I missed some craziness. Don't let it deter you. Cyberspace can get a little weird at times. It looks like the forum moderator handled it for us.

Thanks Moma Bear (love that handle!), I didn't know about bac and the blood pressure thing, my insert was in Turkish and I didn't read that SE online anywhere. I have topa and it makes my hair fall out, but I'm continuing with 25mg a day for a long term to see if I can get acclimated to it, I read one person here was able to acclimate and her hair filled in again while still on topa.

I've had high blood pressure since I was a normal weight active healthy eating teen. On a few meds for it for 25 years now. I've noticed my face is red lately, not sure if it's the booze or the bac or the weather heating up. Or maybe I'm just SO embarrassed about all these wasted years, it's showing up in a permanent blush. (JK) ... oh and (yes, I do have rosacea but I treat it).

Blueskyes, how are you doing? It's been a few days since your post. Are you still on the bac? Take it slow, take care.

Day 5 and all sorted. Silly me, did too much all at once. Venlor is a horrific anti-depressant to come off. I experienced a horrid discontinuation reation (dizzy, nauseousness, insomnia, electric feeling in my head and eyes, thirst and finally tearfullness). Back on a lower dose (dizzyness gone after 2 hours!!!)and will wean off slowly. Stopped the Zyban for now - lets see how this Bac works out for me. Slowly ,slowly, one day at a time.

I simply love Venlor while I'm on it, but heaven forbid I miss a few doses (couldn't afford it a while ago). Life turns very ugly. So, I'm happy to stay on it for the rest of my life.
