Must I continue Librium after a small episode.

I had some withdrawal this morning, but went straight to the doctor for Librium. That helped a lot. I actually feel normal now, and with the reduced anxiety, large lunch, and a good sleep I should feel normal now.

My question is do I need to continue the librium?

It's up to your judgment. I've been given librium a couple of times when it was dubious whether or not I needed it. Sure enough within a few days the worst was over and I merely felt doped up. I declined further doses from the staff at the rehab and was fine. Also had librium prescribed by my GP for a controlled detox and once again was zonked after getting past the worst, so I didn't bother going to pick up the final dose.

Both times I was absolutely fine. My rule of thumb is if it's making you zombied/sleep too much you probably don't need any more. With sedatives like Lib tis better to only use the minimum as you can become tolerant to them over time.

    By the way, well done!!!!

You do not need librium if your pulse and BP are normal and you feel your brain is normal. IMO most people don't need meds for withdrawal although they do make it more comfortable.
There are protocols for withdrawal which base the dosing on the patient's symptoms. Call your doctor if you have any concerns.
      Good Luck

Thanks you. I hope to be doing better really soon. A month without booze should help me take stock of my life, then decide if I can moderate.
