Hi Nictak so glad you've come back to Mwo - maybe you should visit also consider visiting the dentist they check any sores in the mouth as a matter of routine - just a thought - hope you find your way out and good luck on your journey

Sorry Nictak I got threads mixed up my last message was for Jewels thread on sores!! But definitely a visit to the docs is necessary any change in our bodies in 12 months needs checking out when drinking large amounts of al - good luck

Nictak, welcome. I had a liver function test done Dec 2008 just as part of a cholesterol test and all was normal - the doc didn't even know I had a problem at that stage. Dec 2009 and I was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis, thankfully all is clear now but that is how quickly things escalated for me so definitely rock on down to the doc. and get everything checked. Unless things are really dire it is all reversable. Like you I was as healthy as a horse less than 2 years ago but if I hadn't quit drinking I probably would have killed myself within another 2 years. Sorry for being so miserable but I do feel strongly bout this cos I realise how close I came!

Hi Niktak, I have to strongly agree with the others. You do need to see a doctor a.s.a.p. As Molly says, things can change and go downhill very quickly and if you say that you are' "going to die' then you must have reason to be concerned. Please get checked out as soon as you can. Saffx

I think we hide it well. I was never honest with my doctor and my skin whilst at times bloated up, hid it well. No yellow eyes, no yellow skin. One day I crawled into my doctors after a serious five bottle 24 hour binge. I just needed support. I did not really get it. Although my doc was kind and understanding albeit totally shocked, normally I would be made up, clean, but this time I went in all my alcohol glory!!! It is only those who have battled this who truly know the madness of it all. My thoughts are with you. Let me know when you have it licked, cos that is the place I want to get to. much love:h

If you're worried enough to think you're going to die, get help ten minutes ago. Throw dignity to the wind and spill everything to your doctor. You alone know your body better than anyone and if you're as scared as this, it must be urgent. Do it...Please.
