    baclofen withdrawl

I have been on baclofen for two years and have been slowly coming off of it due to a large seizure apparently caused by the baclofen. Has anyone else had similar issues with baclofen? I also take methadone 10mg. I keep having "small siezures? or falling asleep for about 15mins and waking up totaly confused and unsure of the past few hours. Anyone have any advise or similar issue??

    baclofen withdrawl

    Hi there.
Are you sure the seizure was due to Baclofen ? Have you had any diagnostic tests done to eliminate other causes ?

I am tapering down to cease Baclofen as well, due to some uncomfortable neurological type symptoms like ticks and twitches. I know that seizure is a potential problem, especially if you titrate down or cease too quickly.
I hope you have a good doctor to help you through this.

Hi Kid: May I ask a couple of questions? Now sure how much I can help, but . . . how much baclofen were you taking when you had the seizure? At what rate are you reducing your dosage?

I've read these baclofen boards since Oct. '09 and haven't seen anyone report seizures except when reducing their dosage at a rapid rate.

Are you taking the baclofen for addiction prevention or for other reasons? There's a physician in Chicago in the U.S. who has been most helpful for those of us on the baclofen path. He's been helpful to me and I believe he is well-informed about baclofen and its possible interactions with other medications. If you don't have a doctor and need to talk to one, here's his contact info: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f2...sen-41531.html

      Good luck!!

Maybe try posting in the meds section? You might get more traffic there with familiarity with bac.

The meds section is the place for information regards baclofen, however I find them not very good if you suggest any danger associated with Baclofen. I am interested myself since I've a history of migraines, which have gotten worse with certain meds and migraine with aura suffers can be at risk from strokes etc. I was under the impression that Baclofen reduced the chances of seizures and migraines though and it was only when coming off Baclofen that you had to be careful. I don't know anything about methadone apart from the fact it's a heroine substitute.
