    JUST DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! What is it you really want, being AF or managing how having a binge will make you feel......just sit still and breathe, think of how much you want to be AF. Eat something yummy, go for walk, have a sleep....if it is late where you are just go to be and shut your eyes tight! Ride this feeling out, it will pass!!!

      Please don't do it! You know you will feel like crap in the morning. Do anything you can to take your mind off the AL. The craving will pass....believe me. Keep reading and posting...just don't pick up that first drink.

        Someone once posted something like this...if you think it's hard resisting that first drink try resisting the second one. Just don't take a sip of anything AL!!! This too shall pass........

          Surf the urge!!! It'll pass. Find the "what I hate loathe and just can't stand about drinking" thread. Read the tool box thread. The "I'm not going to drink today" thread. Every time you are victorious over these situations it puts another brick in your wall - strengthens your resolve for next time. You can get past this!!

            Another thing to do is to make up a list of the pro and cons of drinking and pros and cons of being AF. It may be tough now, but in the morning you will be grateful to not drink. You will feel better the longer you stay AF and the only thing that drinking brings is bad stuff (hangovers etc). And then you would have to start back at day 1 and be wishing that you haven't caved. Trust me, its easier to not drink.

            I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

            Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

            Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

              No please, please don't, I have just blown 7 months and I am back to day 1!! I feel awful. Ride it out, please, you will feel amazing in the morning knowing you beat it for another day.

              IT'S NOT WORTH IT!! Any thing to distract you, phone a freind, AA help line, TV, food, or long soak with a good relaxation CD. And never forget there is ice-cream

                            Just been reading this thread and its brought a lump to my throat.
                            Well done Miss Hazel for resisting, and what wonderful support and advice.
                            I'm a newbie and have am on day 14 AF today. Can't remember a time in the last 30 years I have gone two weeks AF, and I am really feeling the benefits. One day at a time.
                            Well done again - I know where I will be coming to when I next get that uncontrollable desire to drink.x

                              I'm happy you got support here. HALT is one of the best things I ever learned since it gives you time to think about what you may do. Good luck. I hope I stay ou there longer & do better this time. Pray for me
