Brandon, welcome! You have come to a good place.

The good thing about the liver is that it is very resilient - if you stop. Fatty liver and alcoholic hepatitis can be reversed and you can have a healthy liver again. But you must stop drinking.

Reach out for support wherever you can and you will find that this journey will be so much easier. We cannot do this alone but with help many of us are able to maintain sobriety and find that it's so much better than drinking! We won't die without alcohol, it's not air, it's not water, it's not food. But we might just die if we keep using it.
Stick around and let us know how you are making out. And stop beeing a google doctor!!!

    Love and support

Uni is right - google can be the enemy sometimes! Also, the anxiety you are feeling after stopping the drink may be fueling that too. Lots of water, good food, fresh air and supps... and try to sleep. Melatonin worked for me as well as a calcium supplement at night. I wish you the best of luck - you are on the right path. And we will be here for you. This place is a lifesaver, seriously.

        Geewiz,

        You are so not alone.

We have all been there, and you've only been doing this for 4 years, so alot of times it's a little bit easier to change habits when they're not ingrained for 25 years. So here's some advice, from someone struggling for 25 years, based on my own successes and failures but mostly based on reading from MWO and other resources (books, online, etc).

        1. Don't panic, you can change things
        2. You can reverse damage at this point, you're so young
        3. There are many ways to reduce or eliminate alcohol from your life:

        - change your routine
        - know when you're normally weak and likely to buy/drink and change that hour or hours so you're not alone or not with drinkers
        - Think about how you started drinking? What brought you there? Depression, anxiety, boredom? Let's talk about those issues and if you can resolve some of them or lessen them, it can help you do the above.

Hang in there. You're with a great supportive forum. Keep posting here and in other threads/forums, let us get to know you better.

        How are you doing today?

You may look into the supplement Milk Thistle. It is very helpful with liver cleansing/repair and has been well documented and used for many years.
