    On the verge

I want to buy wine really bad.
I want to drink really bad.
    I am starting to panic.
Any words of encouragement would be much appreciated.

    Nursie!
Don't do it...you WILL regret it! Please don't give in, I know how hard it is. Remember that a craving never lasts as long as a hangover, and nobody ever woke up in the morning wishing they'd drank the night before.
Think it through and fast forward past the buzz....
I am sending you strength my friend!!! :l:l

      Hiya Nursie!

Good to see you posting whilst feeling this way.

You know, you are a bloody huge star in my eyes. Look at your recent AF achievements. Maaaagnificent. Now, you would also know that if you distract yourself for an hour or so, i.e. bring different all engrossing thoughts into yer head, there'll be no room for the AL thoughts. How can you distract yourself right now? What about a positive movie? A phone call to a positive sober person? Something to get you out of your head.

The important thing is to take action and do whatever it takes to distract yourself. You could also accept these thoughts, acknowledge them, and try to let them be, and allow other thoughts to enter........

      Keep yapping.

                You can do it.

Postpone getting a drink -Tell yourself I'll wait 5 mins, do something to occupy those minutes, then try another 5 mins. Keep going for as long as it takes.

Hi Nursie. I hope you didn't do it. It's hard to hang in there with the cravings and changes until you are FREE. But it's so worth it. I don't ever want to go back to my tiny, dark life that was me and AL in the end. I hope you don't go there either.

                        On the verge

Thanks everyone for reaching out. I have had a series of events and today I just couldn't get it out of my mind.

I asked a sober friend to come over. I told Mr. Nursie that I am having a hard time. He went to the movies and left me here.

Our septic backed up and I have been cleaning for hours.

He lost his job and my salary isn't enough.

I'm not happy. No amount of alcohol will ease that or solve it.

I am humbled and sad beyond comprehension.

I don't know where I would be without this site. Thank you for believing in me, even when I falter.

I hate addiction. I am better than this. I need to try some different counseling to address the deeper stuff, and to get some Antabuse on board.

I am reading a book about healing from abuse. I made it to page 7 and had to stop. I'm not making excuses. But today, I made a decision to drink. I am sorry. 75 days.
