Anyone Up For 30 Day AF

Good to hear you sounding better Janet and that you are starting to work out again. I love my swims but if I miss a few days eg last week, I can really tell the difference but then find it hard to get back into it and meanwhile my mood suffers. Does anyone here meditate??

Another dark dreary start to the day here in Kent, hopefully it will turn out like yesterday and brighten up later. Meanwhile housework is planned today as the house looks like a tip!!

    xx

Anyone Up For 30 Day AF

Oh I need to check in - I am not a happy bunny at all. Just spent the best part of 2 hours mopping up my hubby's red wine which he knocked over. It went everywhere....carpet, settee, cream walls, lampshade...I soaked it all up with kitchenroll, poured white wine over & kept soaking it up. The carpet is not looking too bad but the wall is a mess & is going to need repainting. Talk abt being put to the test...smells like a brewery in my lounge.

Anyone Up For 30 Day AF

        Hi everyone,
Happy Friday. Janice, I feel for you on the spilled or splattered wine. My husband has fallen asleep with glass in hand of red wine only to spill it all over our couch. I had already scheduled a donation pick up for the couches so I spent all this time trying to clean out the stains. Surprisingly they still took it. What a pain.
Hi sausage,PJ,SL, doo doo? How's it going?

Hi, oh Janice, that's awful, was he tipsy at the time - it is amazing how frequently tipsy people knock over wine. I remember someone spilling red wine at my flat warming party years ago, a whole large glass of red all over the brand new carpet - fortunately the carpet was terracotta red and I got away with it, it didn't show! How lucky was I ?

I've not been feeling well last couple of days, fluey, loss of appetite etc, so no desire to drink at all which is good.

Have a good AF weekend everyone

            Hello Everyone,

Welcome Doo Doo :welcome: Wow, I can't believe that we are already into another weekend, the weeks have been flying by since I started this new job. I totally relate to spilling wine and guilty for a few broken wine glasses, LOL I would go through so many wine glasses.

Janice and Sausage, wow you guys amaze me on how strong you can be when your husbands drink. My ex-boyfriend was definitely my partner in crime when it came to drinking, oh wow it was so bad, WE were so bad for each other. Wow, talk about ENABLERS!! Sad to hear through the grapevine that he is still drinking....

Janice, I would love to learn more about meditation because it's definitely a great way to absorb your thoughts.

Sausage, hope you are feeling better. Glad to hear that the "thinking drinking" is out of mind.

Ishybit, I am going to check out some crossfits videos on You-tube and see if there is a class in my area. I will be going out for my first run tomorrow and I have decided that I will be running the LA Marathon in March of next year.

SL, what's up buttercup? Is there something that you can try to get yourself back up to having those AF days again. I really think its awesome that you are still staying on this thread and being so honest, keep posting no matter what and you will get there again, I just know it.

I am doing much better and have been reading a really good book called Treat Yourself to Life by Raymond Charles Barker. It's helping me learn about changing my thinking patterns and applying prosperity into my life. I also conclude that part of these "funky" moods are just "growing pains" too.

Anywho, got to hit hay....wishing all you lovely people a wonderful rockin weekend!!!!!!!

:disco: (I just love this icon..LOL..) and will check back in on Sunday evening. Can't wait to read your posts.

            Hugs,
            Janet

              Hello Everyone,

A quick check in before I head to bed...

Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a nice weekend, didn't get a chance to go running because it was just way too hot. However, I was able to fix the flat tire on my bike and took my doggie out to a park and did a couple workouts on the elliptical. It's nice to have an elliptical at home, it does save the day when you are not in the mood to head out for a run but need to get a workout in.

Anywho, wishing everyone a great week and I will check back in Tuesday.

              Hugs,
              Janet

                    Hello Everyone,

SL, lots of hugs to you my friend and sorry that you are having a tough time and congrats on the day without wine. Now, if you could turn that "day" into "days" that would be one step and regarding your personal issue, please know that it will subside and it will all work out. I like your quote of Winston Churchill "Never, never, never give up", that is definitely a quote to live up to. Thanks again for checking in and PLEASE try not to disappear on us.

Sausage, Janice, Ishybit & Doo Doo, hope you are guys are well. Wow, can you believe that tomorrow will be Halloween and before you know it Christmas will be here. I have to say that 2012 was a great year for me. However, the holidays are tough for me because it's usually spent by myself and it can be depressing. But, I will work through it......this definitely will not be a trigger for me to drink. Strange thing is that I haven't had "urges" to drink, just a couple of dreams that I did....I am so grateful for that.

Anywho, gotta get myself up EARLY tomorrow...will check back in on Friday...which will be my AF SIX MONTH mark..YIKES & YIPPPPPPPEEE!!!

Lots of hugs to you all,
                    Janet

Hi everyone and Happy Halloween! Been carving pumpkins and made some delicious pumpkin and chilli soup with what I scooped out of the middle!

Good to see you kdog, glad you are hanging on in there.

Way to go SL! on day 3, just hang on there til day 7 and it should get easier then. You should now feel more positive with every day.

Hi Janice - how are you doing? Did you get all the red wine stains out in the end!!

Janet, you are sounding much more positive again, glad you have decided to enter a half marathon. How has your fitness / weight changed since you quit? Oh and only just noticed, huge congrats on your 180 days!!!! Are you going to buy yourself anything to celebrate / mark the occasion?

The other night I discovered a great on line blog about from someone who has quit drinking, 1.5 yrs ago. It's called "Unpickled" - wish I could post a link but I'm rubbish at that sort of thing but if you put Unpickled blog into your search engine you should find it. Take a look, I've read through a lot of the posts and I can really relate to the author's journey unpickled.wordpress.com

                            Back later xx

A quick hello from me...my hubby & daughter are off this week with it being half-term. Not had much time at all...we visited Exeter looking for flats as she is shortly moving there with her job - beautiful city, think I will be visiting her often!! Good to hear from everyone & Kdog welcome back..Janet pleased you've entered the half marathon! Yes Sausage...got the red wine out of the carpet!! I used white wine & its as good as new, amazing! I've had to repaint the wall though.

I dont know what it is but there's been some changes in my thinking the last couple of days. The odd thought of "wouldnt it be nice to sit with my hubby & have a glass tonight...etc etc" and thinking ahead to Christmas. Need to get my "Jason Hat" on again & need to post more....will check out that blog too Sausage, thanks for that.

Will check back in later...we're off shopping for a suit for my hubby! xx

Janet - not as techno savy as you for sure, but my congratulations on 6 months are very heart felt and delighted for you - I can't quite demonstrate it as well as you, but I mean it - and with a tad amount of envy at your achievement - I would love to be in your shoes and fully intend to be there one day....not sure I want to follow in your footsteps for a long run though:H, but congratulations on doing that too!
Sausage, you are sounding good too - hope your thoughts of doubt are vanishing?
Kdog - I have two daughters and can totally relate - love them to death, but oh my they can be trying at time...
Janice - I am trying hard not to think too far in advance, it is scary and all sorts of thoughts creep in - good luck with the suit shopping, thats sounds like a trigger too!
