    Worried about my stomach

Hey LG...go to a health food store if you can and talk to the people there...they are very helpful. There are a bunch of things out there that can help you and if you tell them about the AL and antibiotics they can point you in the right direction. Antibiotics and stress take the good flora out of your intestinal tract and that puts everything out of balance. Yorgurt/probiotics are great! Keep us posted and feel better soon! If you have some Gas-Ex you may want to take that...it may give you some relief....it has for me in the past!

      Worried about my stomach

      Hey LibraryGirl,

If you're really concerned then I would definitely go and see a doctor.

One thing that popped into my head was IBS.
The reason being...IBS coincides with anxiety. I know that when I quit AL I get a lot of anxiety which leads me having some stomach/intestinal problems as well.
Your body is probably just readjusting to no longer processing all that sugar/alcohol. Make sure you're eating healthy and taking vitamins. You never know though, it could be something totally unrelated to AL. It could be stress! I used to have crazy horrible cramps/pains in the past and it was all due to stress!

This isn't medical advice AT ALL. This is just from my own personal experience.
Like I said, if it persists and if it concerns you, then see a GP.
But don't google around too much about symptoms and such - it could drive anyone crazy!

Hope you start feeling better soon hun.

        Worried about my stomach

Hi LG. Yep, I had this also and agree with all the posters re antibiotics affecting the stomach. I think yoghurt and pro-biotics are the way to go. I'm skeptical of the medical community regarding this issue. They want more appts., more drugs, etc. When mine was at it's worst I was fortunate enough to have a doctor who believed in holistic medicine. He felt that any prescription for an anibiotic should include yoghurt!

I had a colonoscopy and until it got corrected I took Metamucil. Seems like a contradiction but think of the consolidation factor. I haven't had IBS since I quit drinking.

        Good luck.
