Agitation won't kill you, CC, but AL will. Hang tough, my friend. It will get better, I promise!

first day AF in MONTHS!!! Agitated as heck!

This is the beginning of day 3 for me.....it is almost noon. I took a Flexeril last night to sleep...I am either hung over from that still...or I am going to have a seizure tonight...I actually have a tremor in my hand and I am getting "auras' up the ying yang...(I have a seizure disorder)...

I have to go to work in half an hour and feel as if I am going to puke...
However...my belly has gone down and my poo (yes, I know that's gross) is no longer yellow...
I just don't want to feel sick any longer....

      sigh

the most I have been able to not drink in 15 years in 30 days...and THAT was twice and both after rehab (inpatient)....it doesn't help me that my husband is an alcoholic too and our social life REVOLVES around booze...(my husband comes from an old Milwaukee Polish family...and they LOVE to drink!) I have been reading the HUGE thread by "Enough" called "conquering day 1..etc" and that is helping...I just hate to feel ill, is all (funny writing that as when I got drunk I was ill...Hmmmmm)
Anyhow, as I mentioned, I am trying to choke down a sandwich...I am trying a modified paleo diet too...and man, I SURE wish I could have a candy bar....

        a;right...well..I am off....

          Corn,

Whew!! With a seizure disorder, do you take anti-seizure meds?

Have you considered going to a doctor to get something to help you withdraw safely? Librium or Ativan, etc?

Don't give up but do be careful. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous.

I would definitely call a doctor.

          Good luck!

first day AF in MONTHS!!! Agitated as heck!

            I'm back from work....
I have an rx for both Librium AND Ativan. I have not had a "regular" grand mal seizure in about a year now...so I stopped the pheno...but I've all three in my medicine chest. My last hospitalization, for gastritis, colitis and deudonitis.....(I didn't know one could GET inflammation of the duodenum...) they gave me IV Ativan for the entire week (oh...I guess I had a seizure ion January...in hospital) and I had to go through TERRIBLE withdrawal from the Ativan......worse withdrawal I've gone through...so I hesitate to take Ativan for longer than 2 or 3 nights in a row.....
and the Librium...well...that doesn't even slow my fast Texas speech pattern, much less "calm" me.....

Anyhow....I am ashamed to call the doctor AGAIN....I've the medication here....
I ended up doing ok at work....just this strange tiredness....and the craving AFTER work...OMG!!!!! I mean it...Oh MY GODDESS!!!! I had to get the ol' "no-no-no-no-" mantra going....so I am chugging a Diet Coke, (I was addicted to those in my 20's....used to drink 6 or more a day until my gut went bad....

I am REALLY wanting to do this....my father now talks to me (if he calls at all) with the "disappointed" voice....my husband also thinks I won't be able to stop...(like he's any better....probably in a bar as I type)

Sad...when my brother died in 2008 and I was drinking MUCH,. MUCH worse and more....I got a fatty liver...and STILL I wouldn't stop...only a month.....but it's my WEIGHT that is getting me motivated now, (I'm an X anorexic)...I am tired of the beer belly and the bad skin....the peripheral neuropathy and the itchy skin....all the superficial things.....the going South liver didn't' do anything to scare me.....weird, huh?
