Never ever going back, there is nothing to go back to apart from lies/obsession/hangovers and worse.
Exercise is helping ...a lot !
Very happy you are seeing the truth about the poison friend!!!... Along with that the exercise is helping you!!!... I know from an intelligence stand point it helps!... The release of endorphins, etc....
I'm just not overly motivated yet. It needs to be part of my next growth phase 199. Keep going & posting your progress, it helps me to. :goodjob: :l

Over 300 days and Brutal cravings today..
Hi 199
Only just discovered this thread, glad you are staying strong - you are a month or so ahead of me. Don't know if this is of help or not, but do you think you are wise to still be counting days after all this time. I felt it was helpful in the beginning but after 6 months AF or so, it was as though I was putting my life on hold for something, notching up each AF day and it made me feel worse so I stopped. Not sure if you've read my story in the story section, but I try and articulate my thoughts, extent of my cravings etc every month. Take a look if interested and stay strong.

Just checking in with you, as an accountability person. I to have had some bad cravings. Last Sat. I thought of you. It helped me to know I'm not alone & that we will ride it out together & with many others around the globe.
No amount of cravings is worth losing my clarity, hard work, & going back to "Alcohol Hell" !!!.... Thankfully, they do pass. We will enjoy our Holidays without the poison!!!
My little girl who's 25 is flying home Fri, so excited!!!... I have the house trimmed. Fecked up my shoulder good. Moaning in bed, but I've got some tough blood running in my veins.
We will do this 199!!!... Like SV said recently it's going to keep getting better! Your doing great!!! :l Hang out with Sausage she's grrt!!!...

Hey WF !
Thanks for posting on here, we gotta ride out cravings , stare at a wall all day whatever . I cannot go back , if I did it could be many years before I got back in quit mode if ever I did, scary.
Whats there to go back to ? Its all a BS/Con plus despair hangovers and depression well for me anyway.
Tell you the truth I just feel too good most of the time. Its Crazy that My Mind still craves a drug that has caused to me to waste so much of my life and precious time with.
30 years drinking, brain/body is adjusting its going to take a while, 11 months are really still baby steps.
Plus I think sobriety is getting much cooler, years ago it was cool to drink and take drugs now you could say that being sober is the new rebellious
I AM NEVER GOING BACK WF, neither are you.Sober since 13th January 2012

Ooooh counting days, its day 339 Going to count till i Get to a year then stop counting, well at least I will try and stop counting.
Feel a lot better and very very happy to be sober. Have had my sober batteries recharged, have been to a couple of xmas functions , standing aback and watching all the sentimental blubbering drunks stumble about is a very good boost to keep me going in the RIGHT direction.
Never going back to that BS.Sober since 13th January 2012

Well done to you and Molly.....I can't wait to be where you are.
Tis funny to never envy those that drink anymore but to envy those that haven't for a good length of time.
Sometimes this feels too new and raw.

It is totally normal to continue to get slapped by a craving ....they still happen to me and I am almost 2 years. How I process them is what matters. I may throw a small pity party for a while, but it doesn't take long to realize that being AF is 1000 times better. Miserable with AL, or happy without it, with only temporary irritations? It's clear to me. I reckon these little 'spells' will always happen, but they are fewer and further between, thank goodness. Stay the course, just a few more days until we are out of the really deep water. B

OOOh I cant stop myself 346 days Today i feel very good, the simplicity and freedom of being sober just such a different world than being a slave to toxins.
Wildflowers Aww thank you for such a nice post and Byrdlady your sobriety is inspirational to me, Kuya YOU will be where we are, grind it out !
Nearly a year sober, still real early days considering how long I was drinking, Only the last month really that I felt that this really is life changing, everything feels better, sleep, the way I look , the way I feel and the way I think. Sober Christmas does not scare me at all, it is exciting to think that since I was a teenager this will be the first totally drink free. Today I was up at 630am Christmas eve, unheard of before
Wish you all a very happy Christmas !
Stay cool.

WF avatar is a Clanger
I was sober back in 11/07 so this is my 2nd time thru the Holidays sober. Tho it's been a few years, this time it lost some of it's magic. Please don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful to be alive!!!
I'm not scared of losing my sobriety over the Holidays either. I've had some really trying, stressful times. Threw some pity parties to. I've been at this for a while & have some recovery skills, support to help when I'm wobbly!... I'm not in the minority when this crap happens & I know it now thankfully.
Thank you for clearing up the mystery about the Clanger. I checked out Wikipedia. Cute. Tho I must say at first I didn't like your old avatar, & walked out of the theater back in the day, scared shiteless. I did get use to it as a good reminder to not go back & visit Alcohol Hell. I'd visited that place too many times in the past & am never going back!!!....
Really glad your here 199!... It's going to be a great Celebration on New Years for you!!!...
