    This better be it

Jackie, Just wanted to pop in and let you know I went to my procedure last week. Ugh not something I ever want to do again. And I gotta be honest after I left there I had a strong urge for a glass of wine, But I knew if I had one, I'd be on a bender for a week! So I settled for a cup of tea.
Anyways I got my results back yesterday.....Negative, YAY! I am so looking forward to the New Year!
    Hope you are doing well!

That is awesome! I bet you are relieved.
Good for you for not giving in to the wine urge. It's crazy how we have conditioned ourselves to think alcohol is the cure-all. Happy? Celebrate with alcohol. Stressed? Reilieve it with alcohol. Can't sleep? Have a drink. I remember being sick when I was a kid and being given whiskey.
We are a society driven by alcohol. It's really sick when you think about it. No other drug would be promoted like alcohol is. Can you imagine an ad for cocaine where everyone is smiling and playing beach volleyball?
I am really proud of you not drinking. Alcohol is everywhere we look and it is very hard to resist. Every store I've been in lately has all their eye catching holiday booze on display. We have to remember the evil those pretty boxes contain.
I am starting Campral today. I will let you know how it goes.
I am so glad you are doing well!
      Take care,
      JackieM

Jackie, Don't despair. Even though I have never blacked out or did really stupid things it's because I drink at home. Scared to drive after one drink and never go to bars because I work in them. The stupid thing is I keep living this nowhere lifestyle. Time to change. Don't beat yourself up. Stuff happens. Good luck.

Thank you .I also work in a bar/ restaurant. It makes things very difficult for me.Everyone expects me to sit& drink after work.Even though everyone has seen me drunk they don' t know the extent of my problem with alcohol.Everytime I drink I think I' m just gonna have one or two and the next thing I know I am trashed.I hate alcohol and all the problems it has caused me.

Jackie, so glad to see you back on, I haven't posted much recently either, I have lurked on my kindle but I have a hard time responding so I usually don't bother logging in. Hope all is well with you. I know its such a struggle, I slipped up for a few days myself and starting over was hell once again, but have made it through 6 days again. I have had so much happen in my life this year I sometimes think if I posted it all people would think I was a posser with an attention problem...LOL,
But I am trying to be positve, and Lord knows I feel like a human being when not drinking and can look at all these situations with a clear head and make more positive decisions! I hope you all have a wonderful New Year! And keep the faith, it must be a real challenge for you to work in the atmoshere with al all around. Good luck and keep me posted from time to time. You are welcome to PM me anytime.

Yes I am ok. Up&down with the drinking. I just need to fully commit to the non drinking way of life. I know that is my only option.
How are you doing? Are you feeling ok?
