    Panic attacks

    panic

Oh I see. I get the mental part, feeling disoriented and overwhelmed, like something bad is going to happen, but not the physical symptoms. I think that might be different. But I've been working generally on self-soothing and esteem round the clock, which makes me less prone to getting overwhelmed/feeling out of control at times

I get them too Shelby. All the time. Part hormonal, part me. Probably mostly me. My mind just gets on a roll. The deep breathing and calming hypnosis aps have really helped me. Best of luck!

            Panic attacks

            Catch,

Yes, I have experience with panic attacks. They are horrible, no denying that.

Deep breathing, tummy breathing, etc, help a lot.

They wear you out because so much adrenaline is released in the body. I usually have the shakes for quite a while afterwards.

Good news. Panic attacks don't kill you. They just make you miserable, so don't let the panic attack make you so afraid you increase its intensity.

            Hang in there.

            Love,

I hope you are feeling better now. Deep stomach breathing really does help. Are you drinking or AF?

                        Panic attacks

Tv with simple shows help, but the best thing to do is stay busy. Use your hands, run, jog excercise, this will get your body to use your neurotransmitters such as endorphins and gaba. You're left with too much glutamate in your body and an imbalance with gaba-glutamate makes for no calmness and over excitatory. If you have a panic disorder like myself you may have just been drinking to cover it up.

Sitting down, put your head between your knees and breathe deep. Gaba is the most important neurotransmitter in the body, when you drink and throw its levels off, you throw all of your neurotransmitters off.

Avoid murder shows, the news, things like that. Try to exhaust yourself with activities. When deep breathing, inhale a lot slower than you exhale. Sigh, this signals your brain that the threat is gone and you can relax. A sigh of relief. Google panic attack coping skills/methods. Take b12 and b6 vitamins

Another thing i've learned by living with a panic disorder. DO NOT FIGHT IT, if you feel an attack coming on and try to supress it, it will only cause it to grow into a full blown panic episode. Let it happen, learn to use that energy in a positive way. As hard as it seems to do so.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." - Hunter S. Thompson

Life affords no higher pleasure, than that of surmounting difficulties, passing from one step of success to another, forming new wishes, and seeing them gratified. He that labours in any great or laudable undertaking, has his fatigues first supported by hope, and afterwards rewarded by joy
