    morning After

    Hi,

I quit drinking today but had around 350 ml of whiskey yesterday. I am feeling dazed and blurry with nausea and no appetite, any advice appreciated,

    Vy

    morning After

Hi Vyn and merry christmas. My advice is to stick close to here, post like a lunatic if you need to and look on the tool box which i am sure someone will post for you and head over to the Newbies Nest, there is always someone to chat to there.

Good on you for wanting to quit, it is not easy and everyone is different with withdrawals. Nothing can be worse than how you are feeling now though. I can vividly still remember how it was and how now after 25 days I dont want to go back there.

Force yourself to eat and drink lots of fluid and sleep when you can. My sleep pattern is getting better but our bodies have a lot of poison to get out of our system before it sorts itself out.

I am sure lots of the oldies will post with advice when they awake from their slumber and face christmas day.

Welcome to you Vy and let the journey begin as the end is so worth it even though i still have a long journey to complete myself.

      Many thanks,

I just love all the kind people here, just taking it slow and having fluids, hope it reverses the poisoning.

      Merry Xmas all.

      Vy:thanks:

It will Vy just takes time and determination and being in the right mindset. This is a wonderful site that has kept me accountable for not drinking. I have had that many Day 1's that I am sick of them and something clicked that
a: I cant drink anymore, I definitely cannot moderate, I cannot have one drink again.
b: I dont want to drink anymore, there is no fun in drinking and blackouts, depression, anxiety, shakes, bruises, vomiting, gastro, dehydration, not eating.

The list goes on, there are no positives with al but so many positives not drinking.

Update day 10, feeling energetic and lively, no withdrawals experienced throughout. Started a decent fitness and diet regime.

The body took sometime to adjust(3 days) but now moving like clockwork. Sleeps are peaceful, energy 3x, than fullness to Him 100x

Wish you all a beautiful year ahead and looking forward to joining everyone in this pristine path of soberity.
And thanks guys, u good people ROCK....

awesome vynan! exercise helped/helps me stay sober. I have been very active since I quit 15 moths ago, and I swear it is what helps me maintain my sobriety (along with a support group of other alcoholics). :goodjob:

              Thanks Betty,

Would be great if you can elaborate more on the regime you are following, would help me take some cues amongst others.

                Hi Vynan,
Well done! Your message interested me as I feared withdrawals but had next to none, this last time round, even insisted on diazapam from doctor but did not need to take it. DD

                  Hi Vynan
I can relate...my withdraws this time around are terrible....mostly sweats and anxiety...I want to sleep, but cant. As BettyGirl says, exercise is the ticket....it certainly was for me last time around and if I would have stuck with it, I would be saying Im on about 7wks instead of 3 days. This time the exercise is harder to come by because I don't want to leave my house, or room for that matter.
Swam a 1/2 mile today but before I was swimming a mile and running 2miles everyday.
                  it'll come.
                  good luck to you

you gotta start somewhere mtn girl...baby steps.

vynan, I started out walking and getting out into nature to help me be grounded...you have to do what you enjoy, and what helps your mind body and spirit. I love the water like mtn girl and swim a few days a week, I also run on trails, walk a lot, and go to the gym when the weather isn't cooperating. I love to work really hard and sweat like a mad woman...it feels very cleansing and healing. do what works for you!

                        Great work, Vynan!

I SWEAR by exercise. My favorite is out hiking the hills around where I live, but I also like swimming (harder for me in the winter as our community pool is outdoors and I'm a wimp in the morning), yoga and if all else fails a brisk walk around the block. Anything is better than nothing. At 33 days sober I can tell you that my anxiety goes away when I exercise and I feel so much better.
