Re: Is anyone available to help?

I don't care if you're political. I think Merkel is the leader of the free world. Cheeto Covfefee is not! Obama was such an elegant fellow even if folks did not agree with him ( I did)-- he conducted himself like a President. This rube we have now is like he's at a monster truck rally. Speaking as a person that has money I guess he's the idea of what a rich person would be to poor folks but real rich folks act like Warren Buffett-- not showy or classless. I do like Justin though I've read he has a problem with his policies with the First Nations. What do you think there? The U.S. Is awful with native Americans and I don't think that's in Emperor Baby Fists radar. He just wants to
Throw out all Mexicans most of which do all the cheap jobs no one would do!

We are I believe trying our best to deal with indigenous people atm. We have a strange issue though about missing aboriginal woman and thats huge at the moment and how do we address it. Have you been to Toronto; its quite the place with every nationality and religion on the planet in one place with very little racism. Buffett donated most of his weath as well as Bill Gates to the Gates Foundation (who knows how well thats going or if its a tax shelter). Buffett is an honest man imho. Gates interestingly treats time as value so he spends a minute with you and moves to the next. I guess when you are super rich time is more important than money.

Canada is not a large enough population or with the weaponry to be the leader of the free world but do stand for it. Merkel can take care of it. Believe or not Germany is running most of the free world and we faught WWII over this. Kind of a condunrum.

Yes I've been to Toronto and liked it a lot. It's a smaller version of NY. My husband bought some expensive hockey skates there that he still uses. He's quite the hockey player. I'm really not familiar with the issues with aborigines or the First Nations-- I've just read a bunch of stuff -- I do like your spam based on optics alone! He seems to advocate what I do so of course I like him

Re: Is anyone available to help?

This might seem crazy as our news is a little different.

The killer who took 15-year-old Leah Anderson's life four years ago was male and known to the girl, Manitoba RCMP announced Tuesday in a Facebook post.

This is one step in the right direction. The Cree.

Now on the psychological side we could be abused. Look at the Omar Khadr which was restitution. Weird situation because we don't own one race money, we owe for injustice.

What a sad story with that girl. I really never knew of the issues of the First Nations until I read Theo Fleurys book. He really had a hard time though hockey was his way out. He was a big time addict but it seems he made it out-- that hockey coach that molested him certainly helped his addiction along. Do you follow hockey and if so what is your team? We are Chicago Blackhawks fans here.

My favorite teacher in HS is said to have taken advantage of girls. Its hard to believe. He seemed so honest.

No, I do not follow sports unless its footie so like KNVB in the Netherlands. Otherwise, I care less but I do know there is a tennis upset. Not sure how that turned out.

By footie do you mean soccer? I was an Arsenal fan when I went to school in England. My bro in law in a Man City fan. We are college football freaks here- Alabama. I wish their coach would write a book about how he disciplines himself-- I'd read it. He has a system for everything.

Yes soccer as we know it in america. Tottenham I will watch once in a while. With so many people from england and the usa on here is hard to choose the word to describe the sport though its the largest in the world. The reason I'm not a huge sports fan is because the conversations people have are not personal but about something someone else (a player) has done. Seems shallow. No offense intended at all to any sports fans. That and I am absolutely against gambling as I worked in a Casino and saw what it was doing and how it operated.

Re: Is anyone available to help?

I screwed up royally. My husband said he's going to leave me. I had to be wheeled off the plane to London. Honestly, ending it all might be the best option. My child even notices now. That's bad. The withdrawals are getting so bad-- I begged my husband to just let me go to rehab but he said if I did that he'd leave me right there.

Why doesn't he agree to rehab?

I think he does in general but not before this trip. Now I'm withdrawing so bad I can't even walk.

I convinced him to let me sleep and drink water today. It's the best I can do. I know logically the first 24 hours is always bad but then it gets better. It's just getting through it.

He must be really terrified. Non addicts should be forgiven for being totally afraid of addicts detoxing. Unless he is an addict you should be really grateful he is around

He's not one. And soon he won't be my husband. We've been together over 20 years but this is it for us. I wish I could die

I've been following your thread Tidegirl and thought today was a good day to join in. So you think dying is the answer? It's not, getting sober is the answer. 2 and a half years ago I figured I had nothing left to live for, I figured alcohol had stolen everything near and dear to me. So I bought 92 ounces of rum and started drinking it straight from the bottle. My intention was to kill myself with the very thing that was killing me. When I went into seizures, my wife called the ambulance and I spent the night in the hospital under suicide watch.

No matter what you're going through, life is a lot better than the alternative! And a sober life is even better! Stop worrying about your husband and son, start worrying about yourself because you are worth saving!

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.
