A Journey Of A Thousand Miles...
Thank you for this

HARD SUN - Eddie Vedder (taken from the movie "Into the Wild")
I lost a very special friend back in November, and this is the song that I played over & over for a month (along with 'Society')...remembering my friend & trying to make sense of what happens in this crazy world. This is another reason why my sobriety quit is so strong... he & I had made a pact...he would not smoke, and I would not drink. He kept his promise... and so shall I. My sobriety has been dedicated to his honour...I will never let him down...never.
When I walk beside her
I am the better man
When I look to leave her
I always stagger back again
Once I built an ivory tower
So I could worship from above
When I climb down to be set free
She took me in again
When she comes to greet me
She is mercy at my feet
I see her inner charm
She just throws it back at me
Once I dug an early grave
To find a better land
She just smiled and laughed at me
And took her rules back again
When I go to cross that river
She is comfort by my side
When I try to understand
She just opens up her hands
Once I stood to lose her
And I saw what I had done
Bowed down and threw away the hours
Of her garden and her sun
So I tried to want her
I turned to see her weep
40 days and 40 nights
And it's still coming down on meAF 6 years
NF 7 years
A journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step

A Journey Of A Thousand Miles...
Hey Fallen I didn't realise that this version is actually a cover until I was listening to it again the other day on youtube. In amongst the related videos I found the original and still not sure which version I prefer now!!.[ame= ]YouTube - Hard Sun (The Best Original, by Gordon Peterson/Indio)[/ame].
Captn. I hate Mcdonalds with a vengeance!! I'm a bit of an Anarchist/socialist/anit capitalist/animal rights activist etc and have been involved in many anti-Mcdonalds campaigns. Followed the Mclibel trial in this country everyday. I haven't set foot in a store, even to just take a piss, for over 15 years. I cannot stop my ex taking my daughter into these places but she knows how I feel and that's all I can do really; make my feeling known. I usually get the "well you're not a full time parent so.....blah blah blah" thrown back in my face!!.
Tlrgs. I only got to see the movie about 4 months ago and although I could see it had the 'Hollywood' makeover and was slightly romanticized it still brought tears to my eyes watching it. The music really did the film justice. Speaking of films I'm always reminded of Forrest Gump when I here that tune by Leonard Skynyrd when 'Jennie' is contemplating throwing herself of the balcony after reaching her 'rock bottom'. Enjoyed the tunes you've been posting today too Nickleback I haven't heard much of apart from their first UK release here over 2 years ago.

He's got a 'cracking' voice though.
Right being a classically trained pianist this is the kind of fling I enjoy. PIANO FLINGING!!lol
