    Am I welcome here?

I am very grateful to be out of the alcohol pit. So much time and money wasted... you all know the story. Now, I feel I am getting my life back. For the past couple of weeks I have been sharing a daily gratitude with my friends on the Long Term Moderation Thread.

After spending 2.5 months AF, I struggled with learning to moderate for a few months. Now I can have a drink or two on a special occasion, maybe once or twice per month. I have never gone back to where I started, and will never return to having something to drink just because it is the weekend, or because "I deserve it". I know I have permanantly changed my body chemistry, and need to remain always vigilant.

I am not promoting moderation, I just want to know if I am welcome to post in this section. This message would be my only mention EVER in this section of any drinking I do. I feel I have a lot in common with people who are relishing their new AF lives. I use no meds nor supplements, so this is a life-long plan for me. In January I will be reaching one year at MWO, and I feel that joining this thread would be a good way to approach my next phase of learning here.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

        Am I welcome here?

        Hi Sunbeam:

I am fairly new here and I aspire to do what you have done, it is great to hear that you changed your drinking habits to moderation, from what I have been reading most choose to abstain. I would prefer to abstain than to quit entirely, we will see if that is possible.
        Keep up the good work

If you mean on the long term abstainers thread, then yes you are welcome. But just as on mods section they don't want people going on about abstaining we wouldn't like to hear about modding ...

              So ... WELCOME ..... :l

                      Am I welcome here?

                      Sunbeam,

You are more than welcome. We love to have you here.

Sorry, typing on a new keyboard which sucks. I hate this new keyboard.

But, I do want to say welcome.

And, no, there are no dues, there is no requirement. There is only, do you want to be sober?

Darn, trying to type on this keyboard, but you have no dues, you have no requirements EXCEPT you want to be sober.

                      Love,
                      Cindi

So sorry about the typing. But, please know you are welcome here. Welcome.

                          Am I welcome here?

                          Hi Sunbeam,
I am so happy to hear that your plan is working for you! I think that anyone can post at anytime anywhere on this sight. I guess my question is, since you are so happy with moderating, why do you choose to post on "Long Term Abs"? I ask this only because the mods and abs threads are specifically about our "Drinking or Not Drinking Habits". Please do not misunderstand, this is not a judgment call. I am only curious??

                            Am I welcome here?

                            Hi Kate,
Thanks for your support now and in the past.

These days I just drink occasionally. I am enjoying having my life back, and feel that I share that feeling more with abstainers than moderators. When I was drinking moderately but frequently, everything still seemed to revolve around the alcohol. The moderators are my closest friends here, because I continue to post, mostly about my relationship with alcohol, and abstainers definitely don't want to listen to that. But I want to share that "got my life back" feeling.
